NYC Affordable Housing No Longer Checks SSN (healthcare, support, status)

First, NYC Care (healthcare for all) requires no documentation.

Now, NYC public housing will not check to see status.

How is this fair to residents of NYC that will find it that much harder to get housing (lottery system)?

Oh, it's definitely the second one.

GOPers love welfare; they just want to make sure it's only given to red-blooded 'Muricans instead of dirty immigrants.

I would prefer not to have public housing at all, but if we are, I'd prefer it support Americans first.

The birth certificate will suffice if citizenship is a concern.
Taking social security numbers for everything needs to stop anyway.

Besides the idea of using your social security number for everything is annoying. I am suppose to keep up with a flimsy piece of paper the size for a business card for 100 years? If you ever needed a replacement card you know its a pain to deal with, especially if you also lost you birth certificate.

We need a better system.
