Yes the irony that we have to protect people under 21 from making poor choices because they're not capable of doing so yet....but let them vote....is rich indeed.

The FDA’s job is to approve and disapprove prescription drugs, regardless of who’s President or who controls Congress. The Pure Food and Drug Act and the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act give the FDA this power.

I’m with you when it comes to regulating where people can smoke, but I don’t think the government should regulate who can smoke. Raising the tobacco age is pure paternalism and won’t do anything to stop second-hand smoke.

It's not a hill I care to die on. I don't see the big deal with raising the age limit from 18 to 21, but it also seems pointless. I enjoy the occasional cigar and have done so since I was 16 (my Mom bought me one when for my birthday). I don't know how much growth there is between the ages of 18 and 21, so it really does seem silly to me. But I'm not going to be upset if the bill goes through.

Yet teen smoking was effectively eradicated without raising the age above 18, so raising the age to 21 clearly isn’t the only way to stop teen vaping. In fact, teen vaping has kept increasing in states that raised their tobacco age. Also, in the Reagan era that conservatives love so much, 16-year-olds were allowed to smoke.

And you only have to be 18 to join the military and die in a war
