Your link got me curious so I looked it up. That house uses 10000 kWh. Hell I use 3000 in the summer on 3400 sq foot energy efficient house. We put in double pane, low e windows, 16 SEER HVACs, insulation, etc. But we are not LEED certified like his house. We are also not running an office with employees out of it. His energy use sounds about par for the course.

A year. It uses 30,889 a month. Mine's 3400 square foot and 2 old poops and a cat use 3000kWh a month. And mine is as energy efficient as we can make it. So he uses +/- 10 x more than me a month. But I have no office employees. How about they figure what an additional office would cost?
