I’m a middle-class American citizen who has been paying taxes for the past 25yrs. I almost wish I were an immigrant who were here illegally. I’d get free/affordable housing, free food, free healthcare, free education, etc...
The left incentivizes illegals to continue to enter our country. It’s a free ride once they make it across the border.
In the past formal credit checks were stopping black and Latino Americans from getting access to affordable housing, and these new rules were designed to give more black and Latino Americans access to affordable housing.
The officials that created these new rules "acknowledged the change also would make it easier for undocumented immigrants to apply." But republicans manipulate and spin this issue saying "democrats are straight up giving illegal immigrants affordable housing."
In reality democrats are making it easier for black and Latino Americans to get access to affordable housing, and a side effect of this rule change is illegal immigrants also getting better access to affordable housing.
But improving access to public housing is not a republicans concern. The republicans only plan for affordable housing is to give corporations and the richest 1% huge tax cuts, and then cut funding for affordable housing.
The Trump tax cuts gave the richest 1% and corporations $2.2 trillion dollars in tax cuts, and then Trump's budget cuts funding for affordable housing by $9.6 billion dollars.
I've never had a credit bureau ask if i was black, white or hispanic and deduct points. How are credit bureaus discriminatory? If you pay your lines of credit on time, you get good credit scores. Don't pay your bills, you have bad credit.
Implying that minorities are too stupid or irresponsible to pay their bills on timevtobestablish credit IS racist.
This idiocy is happening everywhere in America, and often the citizens who must pay the endless costs of supporting the newcomers had no say in being forced to support the invading hoard. Consider the generous and hard-working citizens of Portland and Lewiston Maine, who have been overrun by African Somali and Congoese refugees, after word got out that these cities offer monetary assistance to those claiming to be refugees even before they submit an application for asylum.
The immigrants quickly displaced natives in Portland's shelters, taking up 90% of the available beds and receiving over 70% of the city's welfare budget - not to mention getting additional money for lodging, food, free legal representation, and other "necessities" that the local taxpayers cannot access no matter what their situation.
To add insult to injury, federal taxpayer dollars pay the transportation cost of importing these refugees, in the form of a "loan" that is rarely paid off - since refugees typically rely heavily on public assistance 5 and 10 years down the line. Nonprofits like Catholic Charities, which didn't put up any of the loan money, nonetheless get to keep 25% of any repayment monies for their assistance in handling the paperwork. No wonder there is no shortage of nonprofits standing in line to "help" potential refugees access taxpayer money.
I have to wonder if Progressives truly intend to destroy the fabric of American society, or if they are simply so delusional that they refuse to look at the YouTube videos of vicious Somali gangs attacking the generous citizens of these Maine cities.
Democrats want to make illegal aliens more privileged than native citizens.

Dems use some demographics to try and claim high moral ground at the sacrifice of the majority of residents in their venue. The problem is socialist democrats are falling prey to their own propaganda.
Socialists are not motivated by love for humanity, there is only a desire to advance a political narrative and maybe get some of those illegal alien and fringe left votes.

And remember....it's not just homeless who need subsidized housing. What about poor elderly living in a run-down rooming house (where you rent a single room only)? Why should illegals get an apartment that otherwise could go to them?

Why do we need a plan directed toward giving low-income blacks and Latinos better access to affordable housing? I know that liberals prioritize their needs over others, but what about elderly people....what about poor whites.....?

Right now, they just approved a bill (in a nearby, ultra-liberal county) to allow owners of SFHs, in SFH neighborhoods, to build modest "additional dwelling units" in their backyards! The county officials say that there isn't enough low-income housing in the county, but the truth is that it is so overrun with illegals due to their welcoming sanctuary county status (estimates are that 25% of county residents are illegal), that they cant find a place to rent. These "ADUs" will be very modest, and expectations are that they will be rented - for cash - by day laborers.
Democrats are allowing a formerly nice, middle-class neighborhood to be populated by male day laborers (most illegal) with no family responsibilities. They are putting the needs of illegals - to rent a cheap place with cash under the table - ahead of American citizens living in these neighborhoods, many of them older.
P.S. These liberals, in an effort to make things better for illegals, are ignoring complaints about overcrowding in these houses. There are neighborhoods where slum landlords scoop up these houses (which are dropping in price), and rent them at to three families at a time - for cash. The county looks the other way.
