For instance countries who have a unique dependency or a product that the nation identifies with, they can protect that uniqueness with individual trade deals. We call that win-win. In addition, if one nation needs modification or has violated the deal, you can deal with that issue mano-a-mano.

Democrats are seeking stronger provisions to ensure enforcement of new labor and environmental protections in the treaty. Republicans don't care about either labor or the environment. They have been hashing it out and it is expected to pass soon.
Just reading some of the details -- seems that for the most part this agreement is what was in the TPP -- but thank goodness Trump ripped that up to get the same stuff in this one -- lol.

Looks like we are in agreement for a change with regards to the wisdom of ripping up the TPP and negotiating this bilateral agreement instead. Of course it it better to agree to a bilateral agreement that can be updated easily by the two countries in the years to come, as circumstances in their trade relationship inevitable change.
Multilateral agreements are very difficult to initially agree to and virtually impossible to make significant changes to in the years and decades to follow. The TPP was just such an agreement. These agreements are as far as I can tell designed to milk the US in an effort to promote the agenda of the globalist establishment elites, at the expense of the US. This is not in our nation's best interests to participate in these sort of self destructive agreements and relationships.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer just stated at the press conference for the signing that this agreement includes 95% of the GDP that would have been included in the TPP agreement.
But since it is a bilateral deal, we can fix it and update it as times change. The TPP would have been very difficult if not impossible to do that. So, yes, this is a superior approach to negotiating these trade arrangements.

The Democrats left the interests of Private Sector Labor a LONG time ago, and there is nothing in this that damages the environment. So again you are peddling dishonesty. Just stop already.
