I really think it all started when we changed how we raise our children. They are being coddled. Bullying , as bad as it can bet at the extreme end, is a character builder. One learns how to stand up for oneself. Also , the herd tends to manage the odd ones, until they develop social skills. Now we don't keep score in sports, we can't celebrate our wins, we can't stand up for ourselves.... no wonder we are seeing people going off the deep end and doing drastic things. They have never developed socially, and developed skills on how to cope when things don't go their way.
Why wouldn't we extend the socialist society we live in to children? Doesn't it make sense? I'm not in favor of it but the "coddling" is merely preparing them for the world of the nanny State - happily supported by MAGAs, libs, cons, SJWs, Dems, and Repubs...all one in the same.

Doesn't it make sense ? Absolutely not. Just look at the school shootings, for instance. Why now in the last 20 years are we seeing an increase ? Why are we seeing an uptick in workplace violence ? Why more depression in young adults ? As a whole violence is on a downward swing, except for these types. Obviously something changed for the worst.

My dream always was to visit England (my dad was stationed there during WW II). Princess Diana was my age, and someone I envisioned as true Brit aristocracy, but someone I had things in common with (same age, love of fashion, children). I would have liked to visit the Tower, go to Harrods, buy lots of clothes and tweed, ride double deck buses, have afternoon tea and elevenses. See the changing of the guard (my father, stationed there during WWII got to say hello...and saluted...to the Queen Mother and Eleanor Roosevelt outside the gates). I guess my picture of a visit to London is just a fantasy. I wouldn't want to go there with all those Muslims, and be afraid about where you went.

The above is my bucket list. Doubt if it will happen, but we can dream.

We all know they are out there because they make a big stink when they get offended, they go on to social media to cry share their outrage and the media picks it up and runs with it.

Another no no was making a suggestion about kids in any way because a couple that cannot not have kids might take offense.

It really is crazy and you have to be careful out there. People are so easily triggered these days all it can take to get them going is spotting a MAGA hat.

I don't think anyones triggered, and the ASA just wants some balance rather than negatve sterotypes.

The VW advert is about acheivement to this end it show's men on space station and a disabled male athlete both acheiving, in terms of the woman it shows her making sandwiches, putting washing in to a washing machine and then sitting by the side of the road on a bench whilst the VW car drives by.

Perhaps the woman can make some more sandwiches for those high acheiving men.

Sorry but VW deserved to get this tripe thrown back at them and the Phildelphia advert is just as woeful.

I'm just saying that parenting (I never touched public schools but would add that nothing short of their abolishment is palatable for me) is only trending toward the more socialist society we live in today. Why wouldn't it?

I don't like it or agree with it but I'm not a MAGA, Dem, Repub, Leftist, Righty, Con, Liberal, whatever and those folks do love their Marxism.

Even in the US where this type of political correctness isn’t as pervasive governmentally there’s been a softer coup in the private sector. The left has totally taken over corporate HR departments. I work in sales and on occasion teach sales training. I recently had a “discussion” with HR because I instructed a class that when talking to a husband and wife to focus more on the wife as they are typically the ultimate decision maker. Seems totally asinine that I can’t even teach proper sales techniques anymore, it’s a self inflicted wound. My company also has a diversity department within HR that essentially acts as an internal left wing political arm that regularly pressures decision makers on who to hire, advertise with, sponsor, donate to and who not to. Marketing was recently pressured by HR to remove all radio advertisements even though they were our most successful advertisements. I feel like this all puts as at a disadvantage to companies who do not have these internal activists.
