“European and US scientists have cleared up a point that has been nagging away at climate science for decades: not only is the planet warming faster than at any time in the last 2,000 years, but this unique climate change really does have neither a historic precedent nor a natural cause.”
Good article, thanks for posting. I did not know that the Medieval Warm Period and the Little Ice Age were regional and not global. Interesting.

Right............................
All "natural causes" have been excluded?
Tell me exactly how one parses out the relative impact of:
sun spots
the earth's orbit
volcanos
the earths magnetic field
water vapor
................ relative to CO2?
You do realize, don't you, that not only is the earth's magnetic poles moving, but the force of the earth's magnetic field has been declining over the last 100 years, which allows more radiation to penetrate the atmosphere. Tell me how you account from a statistical standpoint, the relative impact of changes in the earth's magnetic field relative to CO2?
Why hasn't mean barometric pressure increased?
Why have the oceans not risen 6ft, as we would expect if such temperature changes have actually happened?
How can you compare temps measured via satellite, to mercury/alcohol thermometers, to "proxy" temps?
How can you compare temps that have been "urbanized" and are not even from the same location?
If CO2 drives temps, why didn't they go down in the Depression and up during WW2?
How can there be tropical fossilized plants and animals above the arctic circle that date to current continental positions?
How do you determine the % of contribution from water vapor vs CO2?
Why have "scientists" had to fake their data, rather than reporting the actual results?
Why isn't Mars hot if CO2 is the main determinant of temperatures?
I have an odd question for you. Without looking what % of CO2 emission is the US responsible for currently?
Just asking because I look over at Europe and they can't even get EU members to follow budget rules they all agreed too.
Then you have the Kyoto signers, that after castigating the US for not signing this meaningless feel good document grew their CO2 emissions even more.
So hey, I agree with you about global warming being a real thing.
But what is your REAL solution that will actually be undertaken? If it's only done in a few countries like the US will we just see that pollution\manufacturing shift to other countries? (Same CO2, different source). But wait, that's exactly what happened and India, China and other countries have already given the middle finger to strict CO2 reduction.
Just pointing out that some people are playing checkers and some are playing chess with regards to global warming. Understanding that it's a GLOBAL issue and that local answers and trite treaties are checkers is step 1.

Its not necessary a feel good movement. More in that its rolling a dice on humanity that we’d actually try and pull together. So more like a nervous roll of the dice on mankind’s will.
“It’s true that during the Little Ice Age it was generally colder across the whole world,” says Raphel Neukom of the University of Bern in Switzerland, and first author, “but not everywhere at the same time. The peak periods of pre-industrial warm and cold periods occurred at different times in different places.”
whole world......global
