Why aren't their countries doing anything to help those sick children? Is it their problem to solve or ours? We can't even fix our problems let alone theirs.

Why is Maduro burning the trucks loaded with food and medicine when his people are dying, eating their pets? THAT is how socialism REALLY works! It equalizes poverty for all but the top, as he eats meat pies - the fat ass!

Why are liberal Mayors and Governors more concerned for illegal migrants than the homeless explosion in their cities? Middle-age diseases (bubonic plague and typhus) are making a come back and it's killing the homeless, 40% of whom are vets. Why?

Sounds like you are more concerned about everyone else in the world than our own citizens who are being completely ignored.

And what are you doing about it? Have you sponsored any of these sick kids and are personally responsible for the costs of their care? Have you gone to a third world country and tirelessly worked to help all the sick people there? Or do you expect the taxpayers to shoulder the entire burden while you engage in name calling?

We have Americans who can't get proper health care and end up dying as a result. Charity starts at home. That means we take care of our own first and foremost. If there is anything left over, then we help others.

For example, do you ignore the needs of your own family and put the needs of a total stranger ahead of your family? If you put the needs of total strangers ahead of the needs of your family, then that is "deplorable".

Yep, but BO didn't know a thing ...... . It just goes to show that laws are frequently not followed. I'm wondering if the parents/guardians of these kids are self-supporting.

tRump's "christian" base want those kids out!

Now!

Republican Jesus demands it.

Carry on.

Yawn again. Perhaps President Trump feels 3 years of American taxpayer-funded medical care for a Honduran citizen is enough, and it is time for Honduras to step up to the plate here. Or are you implying Honduras is incapable of doing so.

That's a good question. If the family (sick child included) is here illegally, are the parents working here illegally?

Interesting that the Bible discusses this .... my guess is many posters who bring up Christianity only to bash President Trump and his supporters skipped that part.

It seems some of the people in Madcow's tirade were here legally, and if they were legally here for the benefit if the medical treatment they were permitted to obtain Medicaid and get a job. What happened in the first case was that Mom's and Jonathan's status was not renewed, and they were supposed to return to Honduras ( where no treatment for cystic fibrosis exists, allegedly.) There doesn't seem to be am explanation of what happens if they are here illegally.

Per the Boston Globe:

Consider the case of Marie and her 13-year-old son. They were visiting Boston in 2013 when the boy fell ill. He was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia, a genetic condition for which he’s been treated at Boston Medical Center. She filed for medical deferred action almost immediately and they were approved in 2017. The status, valid for two years, meant she could get a work permit and he would be granted MassHealth and afford access to life-saving care. She is required to bring him into BMC for monitoring every two months; otherwise acute problems might arise that can result in brain damage or kidney failure, she said. Last week, Marie got a denial letter from US Citizenship and Immigration Services after filing for a renewal. They were instructed to leave within 33 days or else risk deportation.

OK, she comes in on a tourist visa and her son becomes ill (by some miracle his sickle cell anemia makes itself known while they are visiting a first world country with the essential medical care required.) She files and gets approved in 2017 (wonder what she was doing between 2013-2017). Now it seems her renewal has been denied.

“I can’t go back to Haiti,” Marie said in an interview on Monday organized by local immigration advocates. “I won’t find this medical care for him there.”
