Add in increased demand for healthcare and take away competitive downward pressure on prices and the price skyrockets even more. My bet is that it would lead to price controls and ultimately shortages. Tens of millions of people have healthcare plans completely covered by their employers. Those people are going to be pissed. Such a bad idea.
There are huge price controls as it is. With Medicare and Medicaid docs, providers, hospitals and facilities already take big forced cuts. There will be shortages if they are not paid enough.
The technology used yesterday won't perform the exams that are being ordered today. MRI and CT scanners have dramatically changed in the past couple of decades. They get faster with the scanning and higher resolution images now. That's why your scan that used to take an hour only takes 15 minutes now. The high cost is due to research to find the improvements.
Yes and we can thank American capitalism for that. Another thing Sanders doesn't get about M4A. Nobody would care anymore, it would be half-assed and basic healthcare. Quality of healthcare would plummet.
My jaw literally dropped when I saw that amount. That's almost a thousand dollars a month.
He defends it by saying a family that pays $20,000 a year for health insurance and care would be saving money.
Well I fall into the middle class and my health insurance for my spouse and myself is like $230 a month, for excellent coverage. We spend maybe $2850 a year for total everything, rxs, etc.
So under his plan I would be forced to lose that, and pay nearly quadruple for Government run crap.

SNAP is wayyyy less expensive than healthcare.
I'm not against someone using SNAP that needs it. Just use it the correct way, get on your feet and get off it.
My biggest concern with Medicare for All is reimbursement for health services.
Private insurance reimburses health services more than Medicare.
What will happen with Healthcare Facilities losing money? Also how will the economy be affected with more taxes taken out of individuals outcome?

So guess who gets stuck with the bills? Socialized medicine "works" in these European countries because they don't have the mass amount of dregs that America does that contribute nothing. Just look at prison statistics. Lots of scummy people here.

1.) Public Option that is voluntary is key. Not sure how the Government would finance it.
2.) Cost upfront and transparent
3.) Encouraging and expanding HSA. Possibly tax rebates to businesses that offer HSA accounts.
4.) Expanding healthcare coverage and possibly more coverage by the Governmet for those on Medicaid.
