Nope, the only action will be rhetoric that action must be taken. Nobody really knows what “action” needs to be taken. Politicians fall back on throwing money at it but that solves nothing.
The best action is no action. After all, it’s just weather.
We are talking climate, not weather. Perhaps it is the conflation of these terms that is causing your consternation and confusion.
Exactly. And don't live in Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, San Diego, Tucson, or anywhere in the southwest or southeast. Now multiply that by the millions of people who are in each of those cities. And of course Mexico becomes uninhabitable and if you think we have an immigration problem now, wait until that happens.
That Rolling Stone article is pure nonsense. But if the AGW crowd is serious, I have some suggestions to solve the problem.
1. Kill all pets, horses, dogs, cats etc. They add to CO2.
2. Plant lots more trees.
3. Build more nuclear power plants
4. Ban private jets.
5. Eliminate all drive through. All that idling produces CO2.
Actually, this year has generally been colder than normal whereever I've been. No climate crisis here.

1. Kill all pets, horses, dogs, cats etc. They add to CO2. This is minuscule compared to coal and oil use.
2. Plant lots more trees. Won't work. They get cut down for cattle pastures.
3. Build more nuclear power plants This will work.
4. Ban private jets. Yes
5. Eliminate all drive through. All that idling produces CO2.

You forgot the obvious ones - stop driving your car, stop flying in planes, and stop using A/C.
Nobody said it would be easy. But before anything can realistically happen the leaders need to lead the effort. Having Trump up there saying it is a hoax is not helpful in getting everyone on board with fixing AGW.

6. Eliminate Climate conferences unless you can walk to it.
Well, that's one way for major cities to deal with the homeless problem - just give it a few years and wait until they all roast. Stick a fork in and you'll know that they're done. The electric companies should also be happy, they're going to make a killing (no pun intended) on all those air conditioning units running full steam ahead.
This phenomenon is yet another climate feedback loop. The hotter it gets, the more electricity will be required to keep homes and businesses livable. The more electricity we use, the more coal gets burned, putting even more CO2 into the atmosphere and making it that much hotter. The hotter it gets...
So global warming will take care of the homeless problem.

I live in L.A. Actually moving to a new place in Santa Monica tomorrow.
Global warming means a couple degrees. We can handle that. It is the perturbations in weather systems - the storms, the droughts , the freezes, the changing ocean currents etc that will destroy us.
