Phoenix was 115 degrees in the summer back in the 80's too. 30+ years, same weather patterns in that area. Phoenix population growth is outpacing that of Tucson, but both are adding residents year after year. And the previous info came from the 30 year Arizona outlook published back in 2017. The climate "Chicken Littles" run around in a tizzy, but they are having little effect in the realm of reality.

Yep, the climate hysteria got old for most of us many years ago.
An international team of scientists, studying evidence preserved in speleothems in a coastal cave, illustrate that more than three million years ago -- a time in which the Earth was two to three degrees Celsius warmer than the pre-industrial era -- sea level was as much as 16 meters higher than the present day.

I lived there then as I do now. It's very different these days - hotter sooner, longer, and more intensely, rainy in June, dry in August. I am well educated - a science major myself - and have little doubt my colleagues are spot on with respect to the looming effects of man made alterations to climate. In the realm of reality, it is time to simply ignore the ignorant and get on with doing whatever we can to avert these effects.

Yup. Climate change is a natural process that occurs regardless of the level of CO2 in the atmosphere. And if Obama doesn't care about sea level rise, neither do I.

You are absolutely right, that is why I mostly ignore your posts. You are Chicken Little in a lab coat.

CO2 at that time was approximately the same as today.
"The interval also marks the last time the Earth's atmospheric CO2 was as high as today, providing important clues about what the future holds in the face of current anthropogenic warming,"

You are right, Milankovitch is a big factor in climatology. But it is not the only factor. CO2 levels will add to, or subtract from, the baseline climate determined by where we are in the Milankovith cycle. I do not know what part of the Milankovitch cycle the earth was in 3M years ago, but it was quite likely a different phase than we are in now. Milankovitch has a time scale of 40,000 years and the temp rise we are seeing now has happened much faster than that, so our current situation is not due to Milankovitch. The important take-away from the article was that 3 degrees C of higher temps results in a lot higher oceans.
