That is the right wing model, actually. Perpetual victimhood.

At least these women are in college - preparing to earn a living as opposed to living with the parents and eeking out a living at the Dollar Store.

PS: College is hard and it is stressful. It always has been.

I think much of it has to do with social media and comparisonitis. And the prospect of the crushing student debt that will come their way, regardless of whether or not they'll get a job at the end of it. I expect women students in the 60s didn't have to contend with that?

When I got to college I also had to come to terms with the idea that where I was considered talented at high school, I was now considered average at college. That was a blow to the ego, and I think it's something many experience, which can add to the unhappiness.

I don't think college age women are depressed because they're forced into engineering when they'd rather be nursing or teaching small children. Otherwise all female engineers and scientists would be suffering from depression. Whoever floated that idea is being sexist.

This. And why so many females major in arts degrees like Psychology and Sociology that mean almost nothing with a 4-year degree is beyond me.

And then Hillary lost.

Most college girls are just spoiled brats, rude, arrogant and stuck up.

Sure they will. A classmate of mine got her degree in Psychology, and when she went out into the world to put that degree to use, the local pub hired her to wait on tables.

Amazing that many recent threads have asserted the greatly improved well being of women over the anxiety state of women 40 years ago
Am I the only one that picks up on this stuff

I don't feel sorry for shallow, narcissistic brats who look down on everyone else being depressed. Maybe if they concentrated on being nicer people they would feel happier.

College is hard but luckily there are people out there willing to help. Now, whether or not a college student realize that or even accepts such help is its own thread.
