Wall, fence, barrier, whatever. Secure it! Alligator pits, high voltage, lasers, whatever it takes. The sieve that it is now makes our nations security the laughing stock of the world.

When Obama was POTUS and DHS recommended more fencing you were ok with it. When Trump took office and DHS recommends more fencing you oppose it... I think I see where this is going.

Are you suggesting that the DHS is lying about needing more border barrier? Weren't we just talking about that?

9/3/2019 - Pentagon signs off on more than $3 billion to build border wall
The Pantagon loses their credibility with this kind of corruption. They request tax payer money, and then they they allow it to be spend on the presidents pet projects.

Going forward, the lawmakers need to tighten the purse strings, and make sure government agencies cannot donate money to anyones pet projects.

The very first link from your Google search is from Politifact.

https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...ally-complete/

Even Politifact says it's mostly false. It clearly explains why it's false.

DHS reports there are currently 36.3 miles of double-layered fencing, the kind with enough gap that you can drive a vehicle between the layers. But the majority of the fencing erected has been vehicle barriers, which are designed to stop vehicles rather than people (see here), and single-layer pedestrian fencing (see here). The design specifications vary depending on geography and climate characteristics, but according to the Customs and Border Patrol website, it includes "post on rail" steel set in concrete; steel picket-style fence set in concrete; vehicle bollards similar to those found around federal buildings; "Normandy" vehicle fence consisting of steel beams; and concrete jersey walls with steel mesh.

How does the Department of Defense loose credibility when it works towards defending our nation? Securing our borders isn't a pet project, it wasn't a pet project when Obama spent money on it and it isn't a pet project now.

Did Congress allocate the money for Defense? Obama didn't have to divert anything when he built border fencing, democrats and republicans came together to support him doing his job to defend the nation.

It is quite simple: Immigration enforcement is not the duty of the military, and renaming immigration to "invasion" might fool a 5 yr old, but no one older than that.
