Its interesting how America has far lower employment-to-population ratios than countries with far better public safety nets. In fact, the idea that a "socialist" public safety net leads to people getting lazy and stop working while a system with very poor safety net and "self-reliance" forces people to work, just doesnt hold up to scrutiny.
