If a candidate says "I'm anti-abortion, I'm going to make sure Roe is overturned" or something similar, most people don't know how the president is going to do that. They just hear something they like and vote for it.

It is painfully obvious when reading political debates on the internet and in person that a lot of people have no idea how the government actually works. Who does what, who has what exact power. I don't think most Trump voters who voted for this reason thought "wow, he's gonna appoint a bunch of federal judges at all levels who may be able to help my pro-life stance." Nah, all they need to hear is anti-abortion rhetoric, it doesn't matter the how.
