I do not share the economic philosophy of either Joe Biden or Donald Trump. But Joe Biden could make an argument that he's more of a real Republican than Donald Trump on economics. Consider this:

Joe Biden has a record of supporting free trade, Donald Trump has pursued protectionism.

Joe Biden voted for welfare reform in 1996, Donald Trump has not pursued any kind of meaningful entitlement reform.

Joe Biden supports the Affordable Care Act and wants to add a public option, Donald Trump has criticized the Affordable Care Act but kept in place the majority of the law.

Joe Biden has not called for lower interest rates, Donald Trump has.

Joe Biden voted for budgets in the 1990s that balanced the federal budget and helped craft a budget deal in 2011 that capped federal spending, Donald Trump worked with Democrats to pass a budget that increased federal spending above the 2011 cap.

Hillary already tried that.

Trump is very liberal with the economy. But I guess MAGA folks are fine with that. Man doesn’t have a fiscal conservative bone in his body.

Biden is a 40 year swamp dweller suffering from early stage dementia. Although he served in the Senate for 35+ years, he claims all of America's problems developed in the last two years.

Dementia wasn't funny until ole Joe came along.

Remember when ole Joe wanted to turn Iraq into 3 countries? LMAO

Considering that Trump is a Marxist I'd say Biden has a puncher's chance.

Great info, OP.

Team Red isn't going to like this.

Biden could run to Trump's right on economics
That would be great for Trump. For every conservative who switched to Biden three democratic socialists would stay home or vote third party.

There are more important things than politics in times like these. We are trying to repair the damage caused by the previous administration. Obama's economic model was based on neglecting infrastructure, war without end abroad, flooding the country with illegals, and warming up/tenderizing the nation for a socialist revolution.

Trump is opposite Obama and lemming lefties on many obvious, critical and important fronts. The only thing Trump seems to want to continue with are the record low interest rates. Maybe Trump will get his way, but it will be because of an inevitable slowing down of the global economy, not because he has any influence over how the fed operates.

How was Obama flooding this country with illegals.

I saw plenty of road and bridge work that got done under Obama’s massive infrastructure project. Got us out of Iraq. And I thought the party line was that Obama was just as tough on illegals with kids in cages, separating families, and plenty of deportation going on. Which way is it? Economy we’re enjoying now turned around on Obama’s watch. Don’t be so blinded by partisanship man.
