If Trump were not running for a second term, would his supporters and other republicans vote for a female or racial minority candidate?

Will the republican party ever elect a female or black president?

For all of Obama's two terms, republicans firmly disagreed that they were racist. But again there has never been a non-white male republican candidate in the final race.

Here she is now. Nikki Haley. Former Ambassador to the UN and former Governor of South Carolina.

I am not a Republican and will pretty much vote for anybody whose beliefs match the majority of my own. But I believe until Obama the Democrats also had not had a non-white male candidate in the final race, did they? So that is not a very good example.

I'd vote for a qualified female and/or non-caucasian/non christian candidate in a NY minute. There's no case to be made that the overwhelmingly christian white males have done such a wonderful job.

Even if the candidate was Republican, Burdell?

I would definitely vote for a woman, non-Christian, non-caucasian candidate.

I might vote for a Republican if she was moderate.

After witnessing the republican elects cover and defend the worst president in history I would never vote republican again.

Republicans will never elect a woman because the republican party is stuck in the 'good old boys' mire.

I voted for Hillary but it had nothing to do with her gender. Would I vote for a Female Republican? No, because she would not meet my qualifications.

Yes, I would vote for a Non-Caucasian (did for Obama), Non-Christian (Sanders in Primary), or a Gay Candidate. None of things are my sole criteria for a President.

Considering the direction that the Democrat party is going......

Most Republicans would vote for a GOP crash test dummy before voting Democrat.
