Looks like Sacramento housing authority and shady San Francisco non-profits are joining forces to house disabled and seniors in a living nightmare.

Wonder where this Mercy Housing gets it budget from to mistreat the elderly and disabled?

Democratic Mayor of Sacramento Darrel Steinberg and Gavin Newsome must be really proud of themselves.

The Democrats only care about ICE facilities on the border but could care less when disabled seniors are living a nightmare in their backyard at the hands of their disgraceful housing authority and the "non-profits" they give large fortunes to.

Tremendous amounts of money they confiscate for social welfare programs and yet they house physically disabled seniors in pure filth with no working elevators or running water in the bathrooms.

Wow, the Sacramento Housing authority and San Francisco based non-profit "Mercy Housing" have joined forces and are warehousing vulnerable physically disabled in single room occupancy units with no working elevators, filthy bathrooms with no running water with toilets that are collecting feces, roaches and bed bugs.

The problem with post like this one is that it has absolutely NO CONTEXT. It just barks at anything that moves, in hope of finding any shred of fake news that stick.

FACT:

- The building was only purchased by the government this MID-JULY!!! Less than two months ago.

- Before the purchase, the building was already falling apart. Being over 100 years old and not well maintained. The building was not safe before the housing authority took over.

- The plan is to move all residents out of the building and begin much needed repair and reno, but the transition takes time. some residents have already been relocated.

- The OP's inference that the gov purposely put people in condition like this is FAKE NEWS.

- The OP is probably unaware that the Housing Authority only took over less than two months ago.

- The mayor has already held a hearing to expedite the repair.

The Housing Authority is trying to do a buy-and-flip here, but instead of flipping for profit they are turning a fixer-upper into a shelter for homeless. Now, a typical 3-bedroom house that is a total fixer would take about 1 to 3 months to make pretty if you know what you're doing. How long does it take to flip a multi-story 180 rooms former hotel?????? The OP expects it to be completed in freaking less than 60 days?!!!! SMH.

Sacramento mayor demands ‘great urgency’ to fix harsh living conditions at Capitol Park Hotel

As stated in the video - the Housing Authority came in July 13 - the OP is smart enough to catch that. Residents said that all former workers were let go - thus problems like the water and pests weren't addressed and continue to increase. I cried at the conditions these people are living in especially because they are elderly with medical issues. The illegal aliens are better taken care of and that's sad.

People know you can't fix things overnight - but you also don't strip whatever resources they had and leave them with nothing. Me thinks sometimes many of the defenders need a weeks stay in these conditions and then see what your opinions are!

Facts who needs facts ?

Maybe these poor abused folks should sneak across the border and then back in again so they would be held at Trump's detention centers. It sounds like they would get better care.

These people deserve better care than they are getting.

Reportedly, about 45% of seniors have no savings, pay no taxes and live on Social Security income. Most have no assets.

They qualify for subsidized housing, utilities, SNAP benefits, Meal on Wheels, Medicaid and other local community benefits

Growing up, seemed most households had an aging parent living with them. Not so much, now days.

Group housing is a viable alternative for some.

...it's going to be interesting to watch as the parents of millennials and x-er's age...they watched their boomer parents toss ma and pa into a rest home because, well, they wanted to enjoy their retirement years unencumbered by an aging parent that needed some extra attention, after all, they worked their azzes off and deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor...what makes these self indulging boomers think that their kids didn't notice how they treated their own parents....
