Is Christmas gonna come early?

The committee is preparing to rapidly broaden the substance of the inquiry this fall beyond the investigation into any role by Trump associates in Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election. On the agenda for new scrutiny are Mr. Trump’s role in illegal hush payments to women who said they had affairs with him, reports that he dangled pardons to immigration officials and whether his hotels and resorts have illegally profited from government spending.

Congress is finally doing what we the people elected them to do in 2018. After having read the Mueller report I find that there are still unanswered questions. It's obvious from the report that he provided a road map into where and what Congress needed to investigate. Trump on the other hand thought that he could direct his AG to investigate political opponents.

V2-76
" The President also said that he wanted to be able to tell his Attorney General who to investigate." Look over there at Clinton is just nothing more than a distraction from what's really going on. Yet there are still low information people that believe that there was no collusion, no obstruction and Hillary was the true criminal. Never mind that the Trump foundation was closed for illegal activity and the Clinton foundation still stands. Never mind that Session's himself said that there was no there there. It's also mentioned in the Mueller report in another section.

"But the evidence does indicate that a thorough FBI investigation would uncover facts about the campaign and the President personally that the President could have understood to be crimes or that would give rise to personal and political concern."

Mueller is clear that his investigation could not uncover a link between Trump and Russian collusion. Mueller is also clear that the FBI could. The FBI was entrenched in the Mueller investigation for the counter intelligence part. Crossfire Hurricane was already in progress since 2016.

Mueller is also clear that there are multiple cases of obstruction of justice. Trump would not sit down for an interview, many in his immediate orbit "lied to the special counsel and to Congress" they used their 5th amendment right. and used encrypted apps that did not retain pertinent information, or information was help "out of the country."

If you read the report, it becomes patently clear that there is a big cover up and Trump was part of it. It is also clear that the FBI is investigating illegal activity and that Congress is the only avenue that can remove a sitting president.

An impeachment inquiry is long overdue and was hindered by a Republican held house, senate, and president. I just hope that Barr is smart enough not to go to prison for Trump like Nixon's AG did for trying to cover up crimes.

Look, you can be tribal and cry foul, but it is not in our countries best interest for a geopolitical adversary to gain access to our politicians, create companies in our country and try to influence policy from with in.

Lets be American's first.

Unreal. There's no such thing as an "illegal hush payment".

Nope. That's entirely in your imagination. You simply don't understand the law.

I do understand Pelosi's reluctance to rush headlong into a House impeachment vote.

I don't understand her reluctance to initiate an impeachment inquiry. Get the facts first, then consider whether or not to pursue an impeachment vote. Opening a formal inquiry gives Congress full investigational powers -- there is hiding behind executive privilege once an inquiry begins. All subpoenaed witnesses shall appear, no ifs and no buts.

Congress needs to finish the work that Mueller didn't. For whatever reason, Mueller did not follow the money and did not investigate money laundering, tax evasion, etc. with his Russian oligarch connections.

Default InThe Presidential Electoral year

I predict that there will be a democratic led impeachment vote which will be successful but a loser in the Senate. The mickey mouse charges will turn off voters assuring a Trump victory.

Meanwhile, the indictments and trials of the silent coup co-conspirators will proceed with several of them flipping to avoid imprisonment and causing most of them to be convicted of sedition and related crimes. Hillary will receive a pass since her husband was president and he is implicated in her doings.
