Semi-related: I thought this was a pretty good take on media bias from ALL sides. It addresses the issue fairly, and states what I believe is the true source of why news is not reported fairly from either side.

Do you have any idea that only the northern islands were affected? Do you have any idea of the hundreds of planes flying in supplies, relief workers, offering rides to those that do have documents? And that includes me?

cruise ships are already back in Nassau, some back on their private islands plenty of room to help their own. Liberals assume everyone that is black there, is poor and helpless. Bahamas is the richest country in the West Indies.
Whenever I see one of those lame arguments about "Why don't you take them into your own home ?", it is nothing more than a way to get out of answering the question sensibly. Of course we are not set up to take people into our individual homes, that is outrageous. But, there are agencies and groups that will take these folks in and find them shelter and food.
Obviously, some homes are prepared to take in such people but only for so long and said homes can only hold a certain amount!

The problem with letting in ppl from these countries is that it is NEVER temporary as it is meant to be. We have ppl who have been here since the 90s who refuse to return to their home countries when things are back to normal.
