Well what I got out of the 18 months was that the grand jury expired while working on McCabe so now they need to convene a new grand jury. Two DOJ prosecutors left and a few of the witnesses indicated the case lacked credibility. This is not a very complicated case so why so long.
The facts are out there, no sweeping anything under the rug but Barr cant let it go.
The actual reason for this latest nonsense that isn't going anywhere is to distract the Trumplatogs.
Note how they are defending Mcabe saying he hasn't been indicted yet,therefore he is innocent and all we heard for 3 years is "Trump is guilty" even though NO indictments were ever filed. Investigation after investigation and they haven't been able to file a single indictment against Trump but, he's GUILTY!

I’ve also read the Grand Jury expired and that it was called back. If expired, then a new one is immediately formed again. D.C. is so corrupt, they pretty much always have a GJ ready to go.
In brief, a line US prosecutor assigned the case by Liu recommended prosecution. Liu as US Attorney for DC ‘finally’ agreed, but because of the political sensitivity ‘kicked it upstairs’ via McCabe’s appeal to Rosen. Rosen agreed to prosecute, so all further McCabe lawyer stuff is now directed to Liu and her team.
Next step is formal indictment by a sitting grand jury per 5A. Federal grand juries are governed by FRCP§6. They are comprised of 16-23 citizens and have subpoena power. The prosecutor presents the evidence, and if 12 or more vote to indict, then the alleged criminal pleads guilty or gets a jury trial (12 citizens) under 6A, where a unanimous guilty verdict is required to convict.
If a True Bill is handed down .. then there will be another round of negotiations between McCabe and DOJ in plea deals, OR McCabe could take his chance for a Judge/Jury for the minor slap on the wrist that others have received. Meanwhile, the Flynn case discovery continues as does The Durham Investigation. Both of those involve McCabe in possible charges ... worse charges than the lying which CNN is calling “esoteric”
Yes the grand jury that was reviewing this expired months ago and was recently recalled, strange. I didn't need an explanation of how a grand jury works but you never addressed why the hiatus and resignation of 2 prosecutors in the middle. There are issues with some of the witnesses as indicated.
This has nothing to do with Flynn, some wishful thinking in that regard. I would be more worried about Flynn than McCabe. This is certain to drag on for several more months or just go quietly into the night like some of the other cases.

Where's the indictment? McCabe hasn't been arrested.
Not only has he not been arrested, but he sent a letter to DOJ and told them he didn't think there was one. Barr has yet to respond to him, and probably won't.
Another sterling performance by the Trump Thugs. This is the sort of excellence we have all come to expect from them. The whole thing was nothing but a diversion from the House Impeachment Inquiry. Dear Leader is running out of tricks.
