A Virginia state judge ruled Wednesday that statues of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson that were at the center of 2017 protests must remain standing in Charlottesville, Va.

Circuit Judge Richard Moore ruled that Virginia state law prohibits moving war memorials and that moving the statues would break that law.

The right was right. The antagonistic trouble makers should have been jailed.

Leftist troublemakers need to back down. They are the cause of this dispute.

Neatly ignoring the fact that the city of Charlottesville do not want them there.

Never believe conservatives who say they want small government, because they are not telling the truth.

I think he'd look suitably ridiculous straddled on empty air, actually.

It was the rightwing nutjobs who descended on Charlottesville. The inhabitants had made their desires clear. It's their home, their local government. Amazing how you guys can develop a liking for central authorities making decisions all of a sudden.

Why is that participation trophy so important to the right, anyway? I thought you hated that sort of stuff?

^^^
I totally agree that this is a local decision.
Why not put up a statue of Jesse Jackson (or another prominent liberal) beside it?
That local decision could be made too.

Would be funny, but ultimately that's a frivolous response to a serious problem. Like with the embarrassing states flying confederate rags over their capitols, this is just another "Muh heritage" power demonstration from the live-in-the-past crowd - they may have to share their lunch counters, but they're not giving up their hold on the public space. Yet.
