The thing is: Nobody cowers today. No national leader bows under pressure.
People mired in old thinking dream of being the big dog that makes every other nation back down, but that's pre WWII, pre Vietnam thinking.
No national leader cowers today. They will all go down swinging, and even if you take out the leadership, more rebellion will always rise.
Mike Pompeo is heading to Saudi Arabia, looks like a coalition of two countries. Iran is probably behind this but the US and SA are not going to convince anyone with track record. They totally misjudged Iran on this one and they are just getting around to realizing their mistake.
So Trump directed Mnuchin to place more sanctions on Iran, this has worked out well.

Saudi Arabia has publicly presented evidence establishing that the attacks were conducted by Iran. So for anyone who has been waiting to see who the Saudi's are going to blame, there you go.
Also, President Trump has increased sanctions against Iran. So for those of you secretly hoping for a war here, you will have to cope with your sense of disappointment instead.
U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he ordered a major increase in sanctions on Iran as Saudi Arabia displayed remnants of drones and missiles it said Tehran used in a crippling weekend attack on its oil facilities.
Yemen’s Houthi movement, an ally of Iran battling a Western-backed, Saudi-led coalition for more than four years, has claimed responsibility and said it used drones to assault state oil company Aramco’s sites. However, the Saudi Defense Ministry held a news conference, displaying drone and missile debris it said was “undeniable” evidence of Iranian aggression. A total of 25 drones and missiles were used in the attacks launched from Iran not Yemen, the ministry spokesman added.
Saturday’s attack exposed the vulnerability of Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure and threw down a gauntlet to the United States, which wants to curb Tehran’s influence in the region. Proof of Iranian responsibility could pressure Riyadh and Washington into a response, though both nations were stressing the need for caution.
This would be similar to Yemen getting/buying drones from Germany. Then SA blames Germany for the attack.
From the article:
"An investigation into where the attacks were launched from was still under way and the result would be announced at a later date, he said.
Proof of Iranian responsibility, and in particular firm evidence that it was launched from Iranian territory, could pressure Riyadh and Washington into a response. "
Claims of any president impacting oil prices is not based on sound economic facts.
Is Supply and Demand a sound economic fact? With world demand for fossil fuel (oil, gas, coal) at all time highs why haven't energy prices skyrocketed? I will tell you. More U.S. SUPPLY and future supply due to TRUMP.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo described the weekend bombing on Saudi oil facilities as an "act of war" and called it an "Iranian attack" on one of the world's largest oil processing facilities.
Pompeo, speaking from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, said that even if the "fraudulent claims" of responsibility by the Yemen Houthi rebels were true, "it doesn't change the fingerprints of the Ayatollah as having put at risk the global energy supply."
His comments come hours after President Trump tweeted that he had ordered Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to “substantially increase sanctions” on Iran, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo speaking from Saudi Arabia, has characterized these attacks as an 'Act of war' by Iran.
They are an act of war, just not an act of war against US. Saudis commit acts of war against Yemen every day. They might know where the weapons originated from, but they don't know who launched them.

Yes. Iran attacking Saudi Arabia is pretty much like the US attacking Hanoi during the Vietnam war.
And the US response to Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia should be no more than the response of the USSR when the US attacked their ally North Vietnam.

You have absolutely NO credibility.
What specific action by Trump drove down prices, they have been headed down for a decade.

Well then what is there to doubt if Saudi Arabia sez so. I don't think Trump is going to war, I doubt he does anything beyond sanctions in spite of his tough guy statements. I guess he meant Steve Mnuchin was "locked and loaded."
