That's possible. He's such a whack job he is easily outdone by any serious opponent. His presence in the white house has seriously weakened our nation.
Scaramucci is neither a foreign policy nor an economic policy expert. His opinion on this issue carries no more weight then what Doris the checker at the local supermarket thinks. The media sensationalizes this because he was in the administration for 5 minutes before he was dumped for stupidity. He'll soak up any limelight he can get to make a few bucks.

That's completely irrational and I don't think China will do this. Trump is seeking a maximal position so the Chinese have nothing to lose by trying to wait him out. I agree that they think Trump will be re-elected, but I disagree that they would capitulate before the election. With the election, there's a chance they won't have to capitulate at all.
Because Trump has caused them to see the worst economic numbers they have seen in many years. Trump has also stalled investment into China, and the tariffs are causing the acceleration of the supply chain relocating outside of China.
The current course Trump has put us on is not sustainable for China, they will have to either see a democrate win in 2020 (unlikely), or agree to a new trade deal with the US.

I don't see the Chinese running to the bargaining table, so how is this trade war winning?
China has 6.2% growth in Q2 of 2019. US had 2.1%. Yes, growth is slowing in China but it is also slowing in the US. It is all a matter of who blinks first. They are playing a long game; they are betting they can outlast the US. And they probably can since their country is pretty rigidly controlled.
I would say there is some truth to that. Trump is helping the Chinese rise to the top of the World Economy MUCH quicker. Must of that is set in motion already even if he is not elected.
This is pretty obvious. If you were a smart person would you rather compete against other smart people? Or complete fools?
