This is often in an attempt to do something fraudulent. Of course that should be illegal too.
Be a grown up and don't complain when someone commits fraud against you and maybe gives you a chronic disease to boot. Maybe some people prefer being victimized with no recourse.
What law are you going to write to prevent people from making bad decisions or being naive and stupid? "He promised me a ring, your Honor, if I had sex with him." How stupid is the person making that claim? What a waste of court time and taxpayer money.
Edit - and I would laugh my ass off at a prosecutor who actually brought it to a court. If I lived in that city or county I would be pissed at him or her.

That sounds like a legitimate oral contract to me. Of course it is usually padded with a lot of deceptive grooming, and coercion based on lies.
I was browsing my Facebook feed this morning and I came across a post a friend shared that was very controversial to say the least. The post suggested that making a woman believe you like her just to have sex with her be considered sexual assault. It generated a lot of strong opinions on both sides.
My thoughts: yes leading people on for sex is cruel. But criminalizing it is not something I will get behind. Consent is still given even if under false pretenses. Sex is not and should not be a money back or emotions back guarantee. It is a judgement call and punishing someone because you made a poor judgement call is not cool. It is also impossible to measure a level of emotion from an outside perspective on how much they like someone. The focus on fighting sexual assault should be on people who are having things done to them completely against their will.
What say y’all?

Wow! Just wow! The more I read threads like this one, the more admiration I feel for LGBT people. Their relationships seem straightforward and conflict-free, in ways that straight relationships can never be in today's social climate. Sex is probably equally simple, with a very low risk of rape charges for the initiating partner.
What do LGBT people know that straight people don't know?

I already mentioned before that McCarran Airport will be filled with Timothys flying in from out of state. Prostitution is legal in Nevada, after all. Expensive as it must be, it's gotta be less costly than fighting a rape charge.
They say most scifi becomes reality. I once saw a scifi set in the future, where sex had been banned. It's no longer stuff of fairytale, but this is coming true.
Before we know it the progressives will have banned sex altogether.
And other sci-fi set in the future is the opposite. But we should take the worst example right? No agendas here.

Wait, what if the whole recent militaristic political correctness regarding gender relations (“ May I kiss you?, may I touch your....”) is to create a condition for a new business growth opportunities and a legalized paid sex?
Wow, I just blew my own mind! Excellent business in the future- unlimited growth- no more free sex among consenting adults. It is hard to defend if you really liked him/ her/their- or just pretended liking them for sex?
I wonder if a woman or a man don’t feel some loss and will miss the spontaneity, a happy surprise, magic, serendipity? If one has to ask for a permission to hug, kiss, touch?
