I may be wrong about this, but didn’t the schools offer to get a separate bathroom/locker room for the transgender kids? Didn’t the transgender kids refuse the separate facilities and say they wanted access to the boys or girls locker room or bathroom?

Yes, they did refuse the separate facilities in the school district in the OP. Tran students complain that's discrimination.
