I would love to see an analysis of why child care is suddenly so expensive.

The employees don’t make that much, the buildings are typically fairly small and don’t have posh amenities....where does all the money go??!

The Democrats want to make it harder for me to get by because they want to tax single people who don't have children to pay for their government daycare schemes.

Elizabeth Warren wants to confiscate money so that these families with several kids pay very little and the business and individuals who have no vested interest pay the bill.

Elizabeth Warren wants big tax increases to implement her socialist daycare scheme, much of which if she gets her way will go directly to free government daycare centers.

Why should people who have children who are grown, retirees or people without children sacrifice their retirements, vacations, new purchases just so millions and millions who didn't plan well want free daycare.

There are nearly 4 million children born each year, so that over 20 million under the age of 6 which is when children typical start government schools. A vast majority of parents work so the demand for an extremely expensive service will be billed to the taxpayer which will have to make huge concessions in their quality of life just so Elizabeth Warren can have her free/subsidized daycare centers for 10 million plus children.

In this day and age most people are living better and larger as far as nice stuff and having stuff than previous generations.

Daycare in the 70's and prior was almost unheard of. It wasn't until the 80's that it became more popular. Now the kids who had daycare in the 80's had kids who put them in daycare and those kids put their kids in daycare. So what we have now is people living better material wise but with disconnected families more so.

I was a kid in the 70's dad went to work mom stayed home, I bet if you ask people in my age range that was common. Now mom and dad both work (if there are two parents) and the kid gets put in a daycare all day and the kid knows the person supervising them at the care center more than knowing the parent or parents.

.....responsibility.....
The same people rationing their cat food for their next meal because they didn't work and are relying on their measly SS check?

Parents who stay home to watch children are also forgoing X number of years not accumulating retirement funds, they're not advancing in the workforce, not keeping up with the latest and greatest technology and losing out on seniority and benefits.

It works for some families and it doesn't for others. Who are you to decide what is right for everyone?

Same here. Dad worked, mom stayed at home. She did't join the workforce until I hit Jr high.

If I have to pay for the Military Indulstrial Complex that does virtually nothing for the citizens of America, you can pay up to actually help the people right here.

Sounds like a cry for “free” money.

Not on my dime. They bred them, their problem.

Assuming thats true, you are saying that is an excuse to make bad decisions and complain about them?

I have strong objections to government provided childcare. If anybody other than parents should pay, let the employer provide onsite daycare.

My family made the decisions that we didn't want our kids raised by strangers.

And it cost money to have a job. In addition to taxes, add transportation, meals and clothing to the mix. Then childcare? What's the point unless you are making 100K a year. Why go to the trouble?

If you don't like your own kids enough to care for them, what makes anybody think some daycare worker will be a life enhancing role model?

I think you pay less than you think to the military. Also don't forget the economic impact of the jobs it creates. Not every state benefits but many do. I think many of us would like to see a decrease in spending, but that would require us to not be the worlds police department as well. And that is a whole other topic.
