Why do farmers need a green new deal to utilize sustainable farming practices? Unless there is taxpayer money in it for them? We know that big corporate ag concerns know which politicians to bribe in order to get their bread buttered.
Maybe the guv should stop incentivizing they grow corn for ethanol a soy beans for starters.

I'm having a hard time sympathizing with farmers. We are giving them billions and billions every year. When their fields flood, we pay for it. Some farmers make more money when the fields flood than they do growing crops. Now they are catching on to climate change? Now? A bit late and we've given them too much money already.

??? I don't see it as farmers asking for money. It's a matter of 10,000 farmers who acknowledge that human-caused climate change is real and it's a threat to their way of life. I'm glad they are stepping forward.

I don't know if this has ever happened, but I agree with Seacove here. You can bet that those farmers and ranchers are looking to get some type of kickbacks.
Read the article - the way that they talk about how they raise cattle, etc....It's got a, "I'm going to get some type of government $$ for doing this" feel to it.

Who is paying for these "incentives" when they already have insurance?
"that would provide incentives to farmers and ranchers to adopt more sustainable agricultural methods."
