Uh, Dotard already did that, last election, with Putin's assistance, as confirmed by Mueller Report. No doubt he'll do it again, but that's expected.
All this is how Trump operates. He did it in 2016 and worked, and is doing it again. His so called winning attitude doesnt mean its always legal. He's looking for results. Are you really surprised this has come about. I'd be surprised if it didnt. Everyone that knows him is not surprised at anything he does. Sometimes you get what you asked for. This is an AP story. It must have been verified. The AP is conservative, and as near as I can tell, unbiased. Our president has tried to conspire with a foreign government to influence the next presidential election. Think about that. Try to wrap your head around it.

Two, Biden using the US Treasury as leverage to get Hunter Biden out of a jam, with a criminal investigation.

The latest anti-Trump intell leak about the “promise” to a foreign govt is CLEARLY an effort to intimidate Trump into backing away. It’s time to give these corrupt, anti-Trump lunatics the double-barreled middle finger & to double-down on making sure these corruptocrats see justice.

As you point out, the trouble is between Trump, Ukraine and promises. Is he promising that all future downed KLM flights will not happen? Is Trump selling Ukraine to Russia, EU is left on their own - dangling from the chandeliers, and nothing good can come from secret promises from a campaigning president?
