My theory is that liberals do know that Muslims treat women like garbage, how can they not? I am quite certain they don't like it or approve of it either. So why are they so defensive of Islam? Well a big part of being woke is to see whites, especially Christian white men, as the bad guy, as the root of all problems. So you have a couple of things conflicting with each other but in the end being against white Christians wins out. Liberals are pro-Islam by default, not because they agree with the Islamic agenda.

That's not correct. There are lots of western women traveling to gulf states such as Dubai. They are perfectly safe there.

Your average Muslim and average Christian in a given country aren't all that different in beliefs or practice.
Problem with those countries is the lack of a separation of church and state and dictators/theocracies abusing the religion to subdue the people. The rich and powerful in those countries get up to the same depravity as any other.
The enemy is those that want religion tied up in government. Regardless of what religion they pretend to follow. Those Islamic countries have just been more effective at suppressing dissent and their age of enlightenment. Often with our help. There are a disturbing number of people here that would like to turn us into a theocracy as well.
Not pro-Abrahamic religion anyway. Although modern Judaism is much better with those things than the other 2 big religions.
Because many modern Jews tend to be pretty agnostic, some even atheist.
Same with Christians, at least in Europe.
Interestingly, many of those people who beat their wives to death here in Europe are religious and say things like that their marriage vow before god says until death do them part, so when their wives want to get divorced...

I could not possibly disagree with any religion more than Islam. But what you're saying is nonsense. It's possible to believe in Islam - and even see women as inferior - without outright abusing them.
