Idiot's comment above made without checking the facts. The Obamas' are not going to get their feet wet until much of Manhattan and all of Mar a Lago is under water. I don't think anyone is predicting that much rise in sea levels anytime in even our grandchildren's lifetimes. I think they are safe...not to worry.
Nah.
Manhattan's lowest spots are around 16 feet above sea level...
Barry and Michelle's new beach property is somewhere between 3 to 10 feet above sea level.

Amazing, the most you have to debate climate change is the Obamas purchase of a house. Next time don't waste the electrons on such a silly and sad argument.
I can't get over the idiocy of the Florida denier. They have the most to lose, especially as the effects of climate change will affect them the earliest.
Florida Deniers: Blinded by a bankrupt ideology called anti-science conservatism.
Liberals are just as anti-science when it suits their ideology. 45 million dead clumps of cells would attest to that had they been allowed to live.
A recent friend of mine living in the Florida Keys told me it was getting harder to sell coastal property there. Apparently this is being confirmed by Bloomberg. People are having second thoughts moving to Low lying areas given rising sea levels, temperatures and storm strength. I wonder why.
...tell your imaginary friend he's full of it...Keys real estate is booming and better than ever
Florida Keys Real Estate Market Thrives 16 Months After Devastating Hurricane
Less than a year later, the market was back.
In fact, Ms. Shaw said, 2018 was a “phenomenal year” for two upscale areas that escaped the worst of Irma and sustained the least damage, specifically the village of Islamorada on Plantation Key and nearby Key Largo. “There have been 17 closed sales over $3 million in 2018, which is very active for our market in a single year,” she said.
No part of the Keys was spared damage, but the hardest hit were the Middle Keys, around the city of Marathon. The city of Marathon, for instance, suffered widespread damage when the Category 4 storm made landfall on Sept. 10, 2017. Even so, the market is now strongly rebounding, with listings up 23% through December compared to a year ago, as houses are rebuilt and restored. The average sales price was up 7% last year, increasing from $569,615 to $614,076.
