We know the answer to that

Why DIDN’T the DNI know that was happening with UNSECURE information—
There was NO reason to do that but political protection...

And is this ADNI—no matter how honorable his past service—really smart enough and politically savvy enough to know that he is being used as a patsy by Trump’s goons????

He obviously had no idea he was being made a patsy for lot of the blowback since he had to defend what the WH counsels and DoJ attorneys were doing/deciding when they were bending the law to protect Trump

Ask yourselves would Dan Coates have gone to the WH counsel if HE had been the one to get the ITIG’s report of URGENT threat in that whistleblower’s complaint???

I really don’t think so...

Maybe all this stashing on this secure server started after Coates left
No way to know w/o an examination of the server’s contents for wrongful submissions...
Did the ADNI start that process?
Likely not

Has he begun an investigation to determine how the chain of protocol has broken down to allow this misuse of top-secret servers?
I doubt that....

This phone call is just the tip of an iceberg of more communications between Trump and others that can prove how corrupt the administration is...
There could be conversations on there between Trump and Rudy G, between Trump and any other head of state and just people he does business with but you know that there have to be conversations with Putin...

Impeachment one year away from the elections without any crimes or explosive evidence is a huge risk, not to mention that it is certain to fail in the republican controlled senate. I can watch this without sweating a drop, knowing Trump will remain president st least until Jan. 2021
Without any crimes or explosive evidence???
What were you watching yesterday?
What have you read???

The difficulty in the Mueller/Russia probe was that there was no direct contact proven (even if it HAPPENED) between Trump, himself, and anyone on the Russia side...
Now we have a detailed rendition of a phone conversation between Trump—in his Oval Office—with Zelensky (remember—he’s the president of the Ukraine) where Trump makes it pretty plain the Ukraine won’t get needed and promised and APPROPRIATED US funds unless the Ukraine makes a specious investigation of Biden—Trump’s likely Dem opponent....

It doesn’t get more explosive than that if you are looking for primary proof of guilt—
And then knowledge of guilt comes with the storage of that conversation on an ultra-secure server in the Intel community—totally unwarranted for SECURITY reasons since there was nothing that required a secure designation—

Now the GOP can ignore Trump being caught red-handed
Anyone can ignore the truth
Trump’s supporters obviously do it all the time
But this scenario and conversation is really so easy to understand
Everyone has seen The Godfather or Empire so they can understand what Trump was doing
Proof of the WH’s interference with sending the funds to Ukraine are out in the open for months
And now the DNI has had to justify the DoJ (with a compromised AG’s role) and WH counsel’s role

This is just pretty simple...
Trump did something wrong—-his mob were afraid it would come out—they tried to hide it—people talked—
Someone with a conscience and enough sense to understand how damaging this was to national security and democratic norms reported the wrongdoing
And the ICIG had enough of a moral compass to understand this was the real deal—POTUS caught breaking the law and attempting to cover up his crime—that it merited notifying Congress—the body who deals with holding the President accountable for his actions...

A sitting President asking a foreign leader to launch an investigation into the American President's political foes is not "nothing". The sitting President knew it wasn't "nothing".

You are completely mistaken.

Trump asked him to complete the ongoing investigation — the one that Joe Biden publicly bragged about stopping. It’s an investigation of corruption in the Ukrainian government. Where is the nexus to any U.S. law?

It's not an ongoing investigation if it had been stopped. If you want to say that Trump asked the Ukrainian President to "re-launch" an investigation into his political foe, have at it. The bottom line is that YOU know as well as the rest of us, that the sitting President of the United States should not be asking foreign governments to dig up dirt on the sitting President's political foes. President Trump's staff certainly knew it. That's why they've hidden the actual transcript of the call along with other phone transcripts.

President Trump may believe he is untouchable, that he cannot be prosecuted for any crimes while he is President, but his staff and his cabinet members have been engaged in protecting him, and they wouldn't be if he was so untouchable.

Nice try, but the investigation was focused on Biden's son. Yes it would embarrass Joe Biden, but as you well know that tactic is common in big-boy-pants politics.

LBJ once sent out flyers that accused a political opponent of bestiality. His campaign manager was furious and said you can’t do that, it’s not true! LBJ just smiled and said “I know, but I want to hear the SOB deny it”

Biden didn’t brag about stopping an investigation. He bragged about his role - how effective he’d been - in the U.S effort to force Ukraine the fire a crooked prosecutor. Biden was the front man with multiple trips to Ukraine. The Ukraine is of key geopolitical importance with its pervasive corruption problematic to US goals.

The Trump-Zelensky conversation has a nexus to U.S. law. It's spelled out succinctly in the August 26 2019 Inspector General's letter to the acting DNI. It's a short, easy read.

It was a Ukrainian investigation, under Ukrainian law. Where is the nexus to any U.S. law?

This is just another manufactured media frenzy. The dogs are barking and ratings are up for the “news” outlets. Mission accomplished.
