Because the dems know they have little chance of winning in 2020, and they may view impeachment as their only chance.

Pelosi is not a fool, she knows pushing through a dubious impeachment, while the only way to improve their chances, it could also easily backfire on them.

This is why the dems may still back away from this impeachment effort.

Agree with Painter here. McConnell is prejudging the outcome of the trial before hearing the evidence, and then asking for money to deliver that "No" vote. Republicans have zero ethics and integrity.
Painter is a moron. McConnell's vote is going to be the same regardless of how much money he gets. This is a really stupid take on things.

This is not about politics, it's about duty to country. Trump committed high crimes and misdemeanors -- using public foreign policy for personal gain
Getting re-elected is not "personal gain".

He's so deeply repugnant. He is almost as disgusting as Donald Trump. It's really hard to compare the two - they each have their own unique devilish qualities.

And even more damning evidence of how ridiculous this whole thing is came out today. Democrats know nothing about "duty to country". The only duty they've been doing for the last 3 years is trying to appease their voters by doing nothing but trying to go after our president. Read the actual transcript. Not Schiff's "parody" but the actual transcript. Nothing there Elliot. Nothing there.

I look forward to these RePubiCons trying to stand before God and lie. They will not stand then.

You do understand that obama let the russians interfere in the 2016 election, right?

Damn. This is some serious diversion and whataboutism. Seven names, completely off topic. You really thew the book at it. Guiness Book of World Records worthy irrelevance. Takes really talent, sir. Hats off to you!

I did read the transcript. Quoting in part:

Zelenkyy: We are ready to continue to cooperate for the next steps specifically we are almost ready to buy more Javelins from the United States for defense purposes.
Trump: I would like you to do us a favor though... (investigate Crowdstrike and Biden)

This is quid pro quo ("this for that") in plain view. You want Javelin missiles? Sure, but first, do us a favor though.... I don't see how it can be interpreted as anything other than a shakedown. This is reinforced by senior diplomat Bill Taylor's text message to Ambassador Sondland: "I think it's crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign."

Exclamation Whistleblower worked for current 2020 Democratic Candidate

The "whistleblower" is a registered Democrat and worked on the campaign of a current 2020 candidate. (likely Joe Biden's campaign or possibly Biden under former Obama) The whistleblower went to Adam Schiff first and we are supposed to believe this all on the up and up?

So says a blogger called the red state, besides are democratic whistle blowers to be screened and directed elsewhere. He knows the identity, how so.

Justice Department clears Trump of wrongdoing on Ukraine call

The Justice Department’s Criminal Division has already investigated President Trump’s conversation with the Ukrainian president about Joseph R. Biden and concluded Mr. Trump did not violate campaign finance laws, officials announced Wednesday.

And a separate division of the department has also ruled that the administration did not break the law by failing to quickly share a whistleblower’s complaint with Congress, saying the matter didn’t meet the definition of “urgent” that would trigger the law...."
