Polls show a +10 point jump in impeachment support already. I think once people fully digest the seriousness of Trump's attempted extortion, the numbers will probably end up 60-35 in support.

The founding fathers reserve impeachment for high crimes and misdemeanors requiring a supermajority 2/3 approval in the senate, this doesn’t even come close to a high crime (there is no crime). We get the chance to impeach a president every four years at the ballot box, this is just a show by the Dems desperate to appease the far left

The bringing of formal charges, aka impeachment in the House is not a criminal matter, but a political one and therefore, yes, the Congress can decide on this solely at their discretion. Equally, the Senate can decide whether to hold a trial, how to conduct that trial and it takes 2/3 of the Senate to remove the President.

Of course there was a crime. Ukraine is at a low-level war with Russia with a number of border skirmishes this past summer. Trump withheld military aid to Ukraine one week before his phone call. This puts enormous pressure on Ukraine, which is trying to survive against a much larger neighbor. Trump says "please do us a favor" and asks for help investigating Biden. It's bribery and extortion.
This is a gross abuse of presidential power. Congress appropriated $250 mil for military aid to Ukraine to help defend themselves against Russia. Trump has NO authority to use it as a bribe or to extort Ukraine to help boost his reelection chances.
Trump has crossed a red line. Trump must be impeached to make it clear that no president shall ever invite foreign interference in our elections.
This is the only thing the Demolibs can do to try and prevent President Trump from getting a second term. If they were to get him impeached, that would be their only argument going into the next election. It's obvious Biden, Bernie and Warren blow. Had any one of the three of them had any significant political value, they'd focus on that instead. They have absolutely nothing to bring to the table, except trying to block President Trump on anything and everything. Look over the last three years. That's all they've been doing 24/7 365 days a year since President Trump took office. Seriously. What have any of the top Demolib leadership done over the past three years besides moaning, groaning and bellyaching over President Trump and loosing the election? Anything...?
