And yeah those that go to hypocritical extremes just get an extreme reaction in the opposite direction from others and then you end up with people "rolling coal" and other nonsense just to spite them.
Exactly, and I suspect that's the intended response. Humans are easily manipulated, and reverse psychology is a real thing.

They're Leftist, that's what they do. Capitalist, Westerners, Christians, are the root of all evil, and our only salvation is to elect a Socialist Democrat

The Chinese don't live in caves...

Their UN approved plan: build as many coal plants as they want until 2030... and then decide if they want to build more.

Stop pretending it's anything else but a wealth redistribution plan.

Forget the UN. Stop buying from China. Improve our own house. Lead by example.

There is not a thing I can do about China. I can control what happens in my house and my carbon footprint. And I can control where my money is spent.

Bitching about 'they' want wealth redistribution while ignoring the true cost of fossil fuels is just an excuse to blame other people while ignoring a potential problem.

I do agree with "stop buying from China" as they should have never recieved "most favored nation" trading status in the first place.

"Lead by example" The Chinese, India, and developing countries are just going to follow our lead? That might sound good but the Chinese, India, and the rest are going to due whatever suits them, regardless of our feel good slogans.

What else can we do? Start a nuclear war if they don't pollute less?

If we demand products be built more sustainably or we(the collective people, not gov't) won't buy them, the market will adjust globally.

Be the "shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere."

Due to Clinton's trade policies, MANY products are only made in the third world, so you do not have a choice of a product that is produced in a "clean" fashion.

Try to buy appliances, electronics, tools, ect and find an American made product.
