This impeachment mess is going to backfire for the Democrats. With all the stuff going on in the country, they're focusing on this garbage instead of real issues or policies.
I am a moderate Democrat who two weeks ago was AGAINST impeaching Trump. That has changed dramatically in the last week or so. This wasn't a mere phone call to a foreign leader!

If you don't want to listen to me, here is a sober (non-partisan) analysis of the situation by Ramesh Ponnuru who is a conservative writer/journalist.

Although I'd rather see Trump on the ballot in 2020 so he can be voted out by the American public....I am done caring about the politics of impeachment. Let's get all facts on the table and then let the House vote on it up or down.

It will need to surge to about 75% imo for Trump to be removed. That's where it was with Nixon.

I know it's easy to be cynical, but just consider....even for a moment...that allowing one person to force our entire government to kowtow behind his personal beefs may just not be good for Society.
I have no idea what you're talking about. Keep running the narrative. You're only re-electing him.

No skin off my nose.

Team Red, an abomination in their own right, don't even have to work to get their votes. The economy for the little people isn't that much worse than 4 years ago. Sure, they're still getting their ass kicked but they've grown to accept that no matter who's in charge.

It's absolutely stunning that Team Blue is running this narrative to the finish line...again.
So you're saying the average citizen doesn't care if their president is a criminal? I'm not sure I buy that. The reality is more that most people aren't nearly as politically involved as those on political forums like this one, and may not be tuned in to every detail. That is not the same thing as them not caring about having a decent human being as president. This is probably why we're seeing polling shift towards supporting impeachment.

What narrative? Why should Democrats ignore corruption? Republicans certainly wouldn't ignore it from them. This is not political. I'm a liberal, but if scandal was about Obama, I'd want him thrown out of office. No one should get way with harming this country for personal gain.

The Dems have to be for impeachment at this point because if they are not, that means they are not only agreeing to contest 2020 D to R in the court of public opinion, they are also conceding to contest it operationally going up against the power of the US federal government with POTUS as head.

I bet you don't mean the media lies. I bet you only mean that middle to left-leaning media lies. Because clearly you get your information from some pretty shady places. There is literally no one of any repute saying that it was the whole conversation.

Sentiments like this are why we’re in this mess. An elected official’s job isn’t to be a childish troll but to be a sober minded representative that works to make America better instead of a cheap a$$ reality tv show. If you want trolling go sign up for Twitter. I want competent governance.

Haha! Exactly what I think of ANY poll. I went to bed the night of the 2016 believing we had a Madam President and woke up to President Trump. I have yet to be included in any political poll and no one I know has been asked either. You do know where they pull their numbers from?........

For the 3rd time, what do polls in 2016 have to do with polls now? And why were none of you in the thread yesterday that said polling showed people were against impeachment? Why weren't you in there saying it wasn't right "because 2016!!"? Oh right... hackery.
