Of course there is one. It has been verified as totally credible by a number of officials, and the smarter Republicans in Congress are very well-aware of this, which is why you see them looking grave, meeting with Pence, and slowly distancing themselves from the indefensible.

This admin is not exactly 'gettin' along' either. Pompeo is freaking out, or he would have immediately stated upon hearing about the Ukraine call--"I was there, and everything was perfectly aboveboard and legal". Did you hear him say this? Nope. Two days later, I saw him look blankly at Martha Radditz like a deer in the headlights, stammering. Barr is reportedly angry that his name was brought up, and that he was not told about the call, Volker had to quit, Bolton is talking, Trump is melting down at the rate of one tweet per minute, and everyone hates Rudy.

But hilarious? I don't see a whole lot of conservatives laughing.

Conservatives are melting.....with my apologies to those few that are of reason.

Imagine this -
"Poll: Only 4 in 10 Republicans think Trump mentioned Biden on Ukraine call even though he acknowledged doing so"

Now THAT is some indication of how far the Grand Old Party has fallen. Their Great Leader tells them he said something many times....and STILL they cannot accept it.

Truly amazing. And it shows what great danger we are in.

Glad to see that your a strong admirer of the Washington Post!

But you do understand that that whole concept of a whistleblower is some anonymity, don't you?

I think it's the exact opposite. You finally see people like Graham getting serious about Democrat corruption, we have a tough Attorney general, smart and popular staff like Rudy, fierce and influential media defenders like hannity, carlson, rush, etc.

the only Republicans I have seen that are cowered by the dems are the usual cowards like Romney, flake etc

They are totally blinded by hatred for anyone that doesn’t feel like they do.

Notice I didn’t say ‘think’ like they do, because it’s abundantly clear they are not thinking. Certainly not thinking about the good of the country.

I get it but they repeat everything else Trump says as if it comes from Above. How could they not repeat what he said about Biden or Ukraine or Guliani?

That defies even their own twisted logic. They had to make that one up themselves....whereas in everything else they take marching orders by tweet.

All the whistleblower did was show Congress where to look to find the hidden snakes. If there are no snakes, nobody will get bitten. If there are, some folks in D.C. are going to have a change of address soon.

The best part is, this is a branch of government coequal to the president conducting the inquiry. They cannot have their investigation cut short by orders from anyone, unlike a Special Prosecutor.

According to the whistle-blower's report, the whistle-blower is only one of a group of security specialists who became alarmed. The report states very clearly what was observed first-hand by the whistle-blower and what was relayed to him/her by others.

There are many good writers in Washington, male and female, whose job is to write documents like this.

The report was a compilation. They all knew pieces of it, but few knew everything.

After reading the report, I think there may have been more than one writer, or one writer who passed the first draft out for editing and revision. It's so concise and to the point it had to have more that one set of eyes on it before it was sent out.

The report is a masterpiece of clarity and it's very easy to keep track of all the incidents and the people in them. There is nothing vague in it, like there was in the Mueller report, and no waffling.

It clearly states what is factual, what is speculative, and Who Shot John.
