You want kids to leave school to get gyn exams and BC during school hours without their parents knowing?
Oh, the lawsuits that would produce. If it's school hours? The school knows and approves of what the kids are doing. Do they hire a shuttle bus for the kids? Hey everyone its BIRTH CONTROL DAY ... everyone piles in.

Right.
It's done in the clinic within the school....which I'm sure is quite sterile and well-equipped in case something goes wrong.
We are really putting these girls in precarious positions. Talk about pressuring them to have sex, it's not just the boys, but now you have their friends saying they got their implant, go ahead and get yours. The school clinic invites them to come on in. Why would they talk to their parents when they know they don't need their permission?

I wonder if the nurses do reach out and encourage (pressure) girls to come in.
I wonder if the implant is like a super cool badge the girls wear.

I wonder if the internet and social media have made "girls" aware of contraceptive options.
All of you who want to restrict access to the highly effective methods would be happier I guess if the "girls" just used condoms and had an unplanned pregnancy.

I had no idea it was permissible for teens to receive contraceptive services of this nature without
parental consent. Is this permissible in your state or any others if you are aware?
This is the norm in many countries in Europe, and their abortion rates are way below ours. If you are pro-life, then this could be something to support. If age of consent is 16, then they should not need parental agreement.

Parents foot the bill but arent informed. Not cool either way.
Most places the county foots the bill, typically through property tax. It probably saves money compared to the cost of a unwanted kids in the 'system'.
Thoughts?

I have no idea either, but it shows what happens when young women are cornered with sexual issues. To me, it indicates a likely rise in death from self-induced abortion, if there's a crackdown on abortion rights.
