I remember when the Republicans were for controlled spending, lowering the deficit, making allies, and defending the Constitution. Now all they are is suck ups to some idiot who doesn't know a single thing about governing. Wonder if he really even has read the Constitution. Good grief. The Republicans are an embarrassment around the world--and they are taking our country's reputation down, as well.
“Around the world”

On facebook I see a lot of Europeans who love to have someone like Trump. Even Ukraine choose a make Ukraine great again and so have other countries switched from left wing.

Try to sell that BS to someone who believes in tooth fairy

Life is much better here and I enjoy Florida on a daily base.

I don’t see the hate and nastiness that mainstream media wants to show us.

How many times do you hear about Antifa or Extremism, damages done to either Parties fans, in Florida.

It seems we get along here pretty well.
Well, there was the Koran Burning Preacher and the MAGA hat crowd in Sarasota who refused to take them off in a NO HATS ALLOWED Bar, and the guy with the Van with the stickers and the entire Villages who basically shunned anyone liberal in the 100,000+ population...and so on.

But, in general, it's all good. I have run into many pro-choice and pro-woman and other protests in Sarasota - environmental protests, etc.

I only run into Trump "loners"....and another van with a loudspeakers, stickers, flag and a nut spewing stuff driving down main street.

I look at it like a Circus act.

Uh, maybe that's because the Russian and other "Internet Research Agencies" start and finance vast amounts (thousands) of pages, people, etc. to propagate that stuff? That's at least part of it.

What is a "lot"? Please - look at the polls taken in the civilized countries of Europe (no, not the PTSD former Soviet satellites.......)...

Let's take a quick look....
"A Pew poll last year asking how many trust Trump to “do the right thing” in world affairs recorded positive responses from 25 percent of Italians, 22 percent of Britons, 14 percent of French, 11 percent of Germans, and all of 7 percent of Spaniards. For the latter three countries, Putin recorded higher scores than Trump; in Germany, more than twice as high."

Well, if you consider 11 percent of Germans to be "a lot"....you have a point.

Let's look at it another way. A VASY SUPER MAJORITY OF W. EUROPEANS DISLIKE TRUMP AND DON'T TRUST HIM.

Yet you didn't state this. Why? Why not tell the truth...like it is?

The one thing that really does seem to divide us is Donald Trump. A lot of us detest the man, and believe me its not just NY and California. I have friends from the Northeast to the South to the Midwest that share this opinion.

I also know people who idolize him. That is where i see us as divided, when one side just cannot understand the other. I can understand someone choosing Trump over Hillary Clinton. I can see someone preferring Trump's policies. I just cannot understand anyone thinking that he is actually a good person. When he makes crude, antagonistic comments, when I find his conduct reprehensible, his supporters cheer him as "telling it like it is". That's when I despair about our country being divided. I think if we rid ourselves of Donald trump, we can at least start to be united once more.
How simple it all is.
Orange Man Bad
Get rid of Orange Man Bad and the world will be wonderful once again.

It's all so simple ....... and a lot of people never ever consider

what if I'm wrong?

It always cracks me up when a poster comes on here and rants about a states that don't think and act like one or more of their home flyover states In the course of the rant they forget that those evil lefty East and West coast states contain a lot of people, yep it might be one state, like CA, but there a 40M people living there.... Really wish we had proportional representation, then the true color of this country would be apparent.

The reason why we have this division is due to the economic crash of 08, and failed neoliberal policies of Reagan, Bushes, Clinton and Obama which ran unchecked for the past 35 years. Also what caused a lot of the division is on the college campuses in areas of the country which was once liberal, but have no become illiberal. Their is division between cities and rural area, sadly both cities and rural areas are suffering growing economic inequality regardless of race. The division we see is political, certainly academic, the division in academia is stemming into race, sex and gender issues which now target white people, and straight Christian men. With academia, when people graduate, students end up in jobs with media, education, journalism, social media, publishing and to a certain degree tech which leans progressive leftist. When such types of people graduate from college, what such people learned from academia is placed into jobs and our social structure changing normality, what's acceptable is now unacceptable, and what is unacceptable is now acceptable.

Not for nothing. Yesterday I was at a comedy show in NYC. Most of the attendees were white illiberal, and noting wrong being a white illiberal. Some of these types are also my friends of course. Sadly during the comedy skit, most of these types of people fake laughing and virtue signaling. Its so sad that some of the comedians had to redo their punchline skit for being too offensive because the white folks in the crowd did not laugh.

When folks from NYC move to Florida, Down South or Texas. Such folks will move to places like Austin Texas. You have will retired Jews from NYC who will move to Fort Lauderdale. Than you have folks like Puerto Ricans from the NYC area who will move to Central Florida where its full of Puerto Ricans. Than you have African Americans who are reverse migrating back to the South. All of these such people are moving toe communities who think, act and look like them. Such people will not move to folks who do not think, act or look like them. And when such folks move to new states, they will still remain to vote for the democrat party.

What can be done to mend the division? Social Media is the big problem. Pro black ideology, radical and fundamental Feminism, and radical and fundamental Social Justice act visit run ramp it on Social Media platforms, and much of this type of toxicity goes off into journalism, publishing, and other related progressive left industries. All of such groups fear white supremacy, masculinity, but yet it is the very same white supremacy, masculinity that promoted pro black ideology, feminism and social justice over the years. Don't get me wrong. White nationalism, alt right and mgtow are just as t0xic as well or even worse.

I'm all for the free market, but Google, Facebook and Twitter needs to be broken up. The college degree mill needs to collapse, stop. Also all of these white nationalist, climate changers,, pro blacks, sjw, feminist, mgtow and alt right need to go in a some room or island and have at it with each other.

Love the illiberal adjective being thrown around.Do you actually know what an illiberal is, because they way you use it truly sounds like there is a knowledge gap here. Hint - "opposed to liberal principles; restricting freedom of thought or behavior". Hmm that really does sound like the very definition of a Trumpaholic. And as for the rest of your rambling word-salad diatribe, it sounds like you have some insecurity issues that would behove you so seek some counseling.

We all Watch less of the media mess with their lies.

Our neighborhoods, businesses, shops, etc. are booming so why would we be divided. Low or hardly any unemployment and “hiring” in Florida has the % of re-employment tax we had to pay under Obama go lower, so we pay less.
Wrong. Many are far from booming. With few exceptions, such as Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City, shopping malls across the country, are still struggling from numerous vacancies. Chain stores are still closing. Payless Shoes recently closed all stores. What next in shoes? Famous Footwear?

Unfortunately here in Louisiana the Democrats have been very successful in stirring up racial divisions especially with the black community. And our Democrat governor who is running for re-election is openly trying to focus on the black vote and getting a large black turnout with the assumption that blacks should vote Democrat.

Louisiana is a conservative state, but outside of New Orleans we basically have a situation where nearly every black person is Democrat and nearly every white person is Republican. I personally only know two black Republicans and 3 white Democrats (these come from the same family and one of them is gay). Political and racial division is intricately linked more and more now in our nation. The Louisiana Democrat party actually has a clear formula for statewide elections where in order to win they must win 30% of the white vote and 90% of the black vote AND the black turnout has to be above a certain level. Winning 30% of the white vote is actually much more difficult than it sounds. In my parish, 84% of the total vote went for Trump in the last election and this parish is about 10% black, so over 90% of whites in my local area voted for Trump, and within my immediate area, more than 50% of the Hispanic and Asian vote went to Trump too.

In fact Governor Edwards is concerned that the black turnout in early voting has been low this year and an overwhelming majority of the white vote has been to one of the Republican candidates. The Asian and Hispanic vote are more diverse, with many Republicans and Democrats.
