I'm not sure where this story goes, but I don't think Current Events since it's controversial. The groom admitted doing it and was charged with sexually assaulting an unconscious person. And the bride went through with the marriage anyway! I'm trying to figure out what was going on in the bride's head that she would go through with the wedding anyway. The only thing I can think of is denial, "It was a mistake. He said he was sorry. It won't ever happen again (especially not to me.)" Also, the bride was a veterinarian and probably had a ton of student debt. I hope she doesn't end up regretting her decision. What happens if/when they have children?
Groom sexually assaults a bridesmaid and bride gets married to him anyway is a quite a perverse thing to do! It also looks like the bride betrayed the trust of the victim! Seriously, the groom and even the bride (if need be) should be in prison!
The fact that the bride married him after all of that is beyond my comprehension.
I just don't get it.
The groom wasn't arrested/charged until after the wedding. Prior to the wedding the groom lied about the incident. The victim was in a drunken stupor.
So the bride didn't really know the details of what occurred until after the wedding. The victim didn't go to the police until after the wedding took place. Prior to the wedding, the groom alleged that he was the victim.
Police then pieced together everything...after the wedding. At that point the police had evidence - texts, recorded phone call, video from the hotel, statement from the victim. Prior to the wedding none of that was available so the bride believed the tall tale from the groom. That tall tale unraveled after the wedding.
It would be interesting to learn whether the bride is wanting an anulment or divorce now that the facts have come out.
