"Climate change" is all about the hunt for increased tax revenue. Intelligent people understand this con game. Of course these tax dollars to combat "climate change" will be siphoned to pad the pockets of more bureaucrats and academics while doing absolutely nothing to impact anything. The SJW types will eat it up and it will make them feel all warm (maybe cold) and fuzzy inside to think they are actually impacting something that has been changing since the formation of the planet.
But now if you work in the academic community and actually oppose carbon tax proposals, well not only are you going to be called a racist and misogynist (yes, he was actually called this for challenging an issue about climate change) but the SJW task force is coming after your career. I've heard this guy (Cliff Mass) interviewed quite a few times. He's a professor of atmospheric science at the UW (IIRC now retired) and ironically is indeed a believe in 'climate change.' He just is not sufficiently extreme for the far-left in Seattle.
There is basically no such thing as conservative in Seattle. On the city council, the divide is between liberals and socialists, not liberals and conservatives (or even moderates).

Read the article. He supports a carbon tax but believes it should be higher than I-1631. His objections have nothing to do with AGW (which he believes in), but have to do with the regressive nature of the tax.
I don't have a problem with Cliff Mass, I have heard him speak at UW events many times. He has always been outspoken but he is not a climate researcher, he is a meteorologist.
As far as the students go - mobs of any types are ugly. It doesn't matter if the mob is MAGA or AGW incited. People should behave civilly and rationally.

Not surprised at all. The AGW cultists know they are supporting a huge LIE, so anyone that could expose them is the enemy. They know they have to use false "science", manipulate data, and use flawed models. It is a scam and a hoax, and more, and more people realize that.

Glad the article clarify with “Maoist” China. The Chinese standing committee (Chinese cabinet to the president xi ) today all have phds in engineering and sciences.....they are not climate change denial crazies.
