Who is “she”?

Ivanka has made clear Paid Family Leave is a part of Trump’s “ American Working Family Portfolio” of initiatives.

Seems a tad contradictory to bash a Democrat hopeful for the same initiative supported by Trump.

Seems a tad contradictory to bash those candidates pushing for Medicare for all, while supporting Trump who campaigned on “ replacing Obamacare with something that would take care of everybody and the government is going to pay for it”.

Shortly after the election he told 60 Minutes he was going to repeal and replace Obamacare with great healthcare for less $. He said “ I know how to do this”.

https://www.cbsnews.com/video/donald...tes-interview/

Fast forward to the inauguration, Trump never mentioned healthcare.

My point here is that politicians sat a lot of things to get elected. So called “ free stuff” goes over well with the masses, no matter how they vote. Campaigning is a never ending Oprah Show where the live audience gets free stuff.

Most extreme promises are DOA in Congress, regardless of who made the promise.

While the idea of paid family leave is not a bad idea, as usual a Democratic candidate is promising the moon. 6 months paid leave for every worker, including contract workers and self-employed (where is the money coming for that?). No doubt a small business killer.

There is bipartisan support, including Trump.

The differences are how to pay for it.

Rubio has a bill out there calling for leave to be funded by Social Security. Specifically, SS benefits would be reduced by the Value of the Paid Leave.

I agree with you. Politicians promise us the moon and deliver us a pile of turds instead. Ivanka Trump advocated paid family leave, she's Daddy's little girl, and that hasn't even been addressed in government at all. Assuming Kamala gets elected, and that in itself looks impossible, paid family leave won't go through considering it hasn't been seriously addressed with Ivanka being the WH golden girl and having the additional advantage of nepotism. Kamala doesn't have the clout for it.

Well, my daughter who lives in CA. just had the good part of a year off. Such a deal.

Amazing when humans can actually have a life.

And yet, the same crowd that wants more "American Reproduction" seems to frown upon the proper upbringing of the children. Who would have guessed at the hypocrisy?

Selfishness is the new American creed. Gimme Gimme NOW. The heck with kids and what they might produce in their future. The heck with "Happiness of the People". Gimme tax relief from future debt and make me (a repub) very happy!

Little hint - Large American Corporations, most of them, use large amounts of "contractors" simply to get away with not paying benefits and proper taxes.

It's not a good trend. Yet you and others seem to support the idea.

Remember when America was Great? Pensions and all?

Do you live in socialist Europe? Where do you think this money ($37.5K) is going to come from? The rich? Well I am sure after we take all the money from the rich for other socialist agendas like medicare for all, free health care, welfare and food stamps for illegals aliens, free college for all, etc, etc, etc.

After the rich are no longer rich we can start money from the middle class.

Raising a kid on a budget hardly takes millions. Please stop. It does take self discipline and not buying materialistic things and everything that you want. What funny times we live in, when one suggests paying for their own child is seen as unusual or heartless!
