It’s no secret that mainstream press coverage of gun ownership in the United States tends to be in favor of gun control – especially when those reporting on the topic are not firearm owners themselves. Journalists focus on how many people are killed by guns, how many children get their hands on improperly stored firearms, and how many deranged individuals go on shooting sprees.

This anti-gun news bias is widespread among the “urban elite” who have very little personal experience with guns and yet write for influential newspapers like The New York Times, Washington Post, etc. Despite this bias, law-abiding private citizens owning guns does have positive impacts on American society that often go unreported – many of which are significant.

I'm glad that someone appreciates us

You don't need "positive results" to justify property rights.

Property rights are absolute.

You only need to refrain from violating the non-aggression principle through your ownership of property.

We're an enormous segment of society that law enforcement appreciates and doesn't need to be concerned with.
This frustrates our Leftist lawmakers who must scheme to pass legislation that makes honest citizens into lawbreakers whenever possible.

Because those stories are anecdotes? Perhaps for the same reason that the mainstream media doesn`t report on every family member shot in their home by another family member or a toddler gunning down his father`s wife.

57% of ALL Americans households have no guns in their homes.
11% Dont own one themselves but live with a person who owns a gun.
42% of all American households live in home with A gun.. not necessarily multiple guns.

3% of Americans own HALF of all guns in the US.
Call them hoarders, collectors, or compulsive buyers..

That would be mean nearly 60-70% of all Americans dont own a gun or have a one in their home.

But "property rights", absolute or not, won't be worth a hill of beans if the rulers of your state or this country outlaw such property.

BULL SCHIFF. The media doesn't report them because it is contrary to their agenda.

That info was from polls. On gun forums, gun owners say they never answer questions about whether they have guns.
It varies widely where you live. I live in a rural area. I would estimate that half or more of everyone here owns a gun or several.
