The state of California has been taken over by nutjobs. First, the refuse to do a thing about managing their forests, allowing them to become overgrown, diseased and full of dead trees. Then, when the inevitable fire happens, it becomes uncontrollable and devastating. Rather than fixing the problem and managing the forests-they destroy power utilities with huge lawsuits.
Now-power companies are responding as they have to. With blackouts at times of increased wildfire risk.
No matter what California did the right wing nutjobs would find something to complain about.
Not a rwnj, and I normally wouldnt care, but your idiot politicians give other idiot politicians ideas to implement their own idiotic policies in other states.
There's an irony here. This is also a state with citizens who really want to push the idea of electric vehicles. Sooooo, if you can't handle the power load without EVs and have to employ black-outs and brown-outs, why do they think adding to the load with millions of EVs is going to be better??
A lot of it is due to OUT OF CONTROL so called "environmentalists". Communists by another name. They are getting what they deserve. Now Utilities whom are quasi government can not even provide ESSENTIAL services. But CA can pass more freebies for Illegal Aliens. They have the money for that, but not for keeping the power on, or clearing trees and brush.
No, PG&E is private, so this is another one for "when private monopolies are allowed to do whatever they want."
Yes, but Utilities are also quasi government entities and controlled by a PUBLIC Utility Commission, or a body of similar function.
