Likely will impact the polls regarding impeachment. More people will give up on supporting Trump after saying "enough is enough, Trump is a lying crook."

This issue could increase the support for impeachment by a few percentage points.
This is all very odd. Barr met with SDNY yesterday and today Rudy's guys were arrested. Then talk Gowdy into replacing Giuliani on the legal team? If I went for conspiracy theories, I'd be thinking that Barr and Trump planned and decided to put this on Giuliani.

Sounds like big money donors were given special control by the Trump administration. Swamp on steroids. Could you believe Trump ran on "Drain the Swamp" and now his administration is caught up in this scandal.

Wonder if more whistleblowers will be jumping ship in the next few days to save themselves before it's too late.

Not aware of a direct connection. Of the three US diplomats in that text exchange, it was Sondland who was so anxious to shutdown Bill Taylor. And then there is THIS:

"Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland consulted directly with President Donald Trump before telling the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine [Acting Ambassador Taylor] that there had been "no quid pro quo” regarding the administration's pressure campaign on the country and urging the diplomat to stop texting about his concerns, a person with knowledge of the call confirmed to NBC News."
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/whi...o-top-n1063841
That was first reported by the WSJ.

You know ... the interchange that Trump keeps touting as: Even Sondland says there was no quid pro quo.

EDITED TO ADD - There was a gap of about 5 hours (???) between the Taylor text asking whether or not military aid was tied in ... and that very formal Sondland reply text. The formal language Sondland used was a mistake. A "hell no Bill -- no way" would have been more convincing.

The FBI arresting these two associates of Giuliani is a set up by Trump and the DOJ.

First clue is it's the FBI under Barr that's doing it.
Reasons are that both are private citizens who have been working behind the scenes funnelling money out of Ukraine into Trump's pocket through Giuliani and the government cannot order them not to testify before the House Impeachment proceedings as they are private citizens.
Therefor the only way to isolate them is to put them under FBI investigation. Pelosi has already ordered them subpoenaed with all documents by Oct 16.
Now it's easy for the FBI and the Trump team to refuse to allow them to give testimony with the logic that "They are under current investigation and not allowed to comment while under investigation." Effectively shutting that avenue of investigation down for the House.

Also, Trump suddenly pulling back in N. Syria and leaving the Kurds is strictly a deliberately manufactured distraction from the impeachment inquiry personally orchestrated by D. Trump in his Sunday call to Erdogan .
When the president is under the microscope and backed in a corner, he starts a major distraction. What better distraction is there than watching a couple million Kurds and their families get the crap bombed, shelled and overrun all over the media feeds?
Also allowing the worst of the worst of the ISIS fighters to run loose again and overrun Europe and the ME is a great way to focus the world on anything but his impeachment problems.
As we've always known, if Trump get's pushed too far in a hole, all he has to do is start a major conflict in some part of the world.

Eh. It sounds like Barr was trying to obstruct (again) but the SDNY wouldn't let him get away with it. Then Barr tipped those guys off and they were trying to flee the country, but they got arrested.

Either way, I can't fathom how anyone could spin this as anything positive. Looks REALLY bad.

Yes, it really does look bad and may be just scratching the surface of deeper high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated by the Trump mob.
But Pelosi and the House has to be able to unwrap the Gordian Knot that Trump and his cohorts have wrapped for them.
That's why I think Barr and the FBI moved so fast to snatch these guys. To prevent Pelosi and the House from getting them to testify.

that's a pretty big leap without evidence to support. unless these trips were planned week's in advance i think it's a safe assumption that they were tipped off, but there are way too many individuals with knowledge in this situation to be able to assume that it had to be barr.

we shall see.

Just a heads up. Your posts are hard to read because you send them in blue. They blend in on my computer with the grey background on C-D. So I end up scrolling past it most times

I guess you're missing the fact that they met with Giuilliani (at Trump tower, because MAGA) right before they got arrested...
