Dude, you should probably never go into the lawyer profession. You're REALLY bad at this...
Point being, he had NO idea it was some lady playing video games, it COULD have been street thugs (why is someones door open for 4 hours at that time of night??? And what if he saw an arm go up..

Your lawyer comment is very ironic considering your comments to send him to prison before the facts have even been stated.. take some time to read up on this countries legal system..

He resigned but the police chief said he would have been fired for violating numerous police procedures.

And it COULD have been a bunch of kids in there. If one of them raised his arm, you would justify this cop shooting and killing him for that? Apparently so.

The neighbor told them a woman and child were there. He shot into a house most likely knowing a child was there.

And that's fair, if you think all people who make mistakes should end up in prison, that's fine..

Hopefully the construction company in New Orleans who had their hotel collapse and kill two people also has those responsible sent to prison...

A doctor who makes an error and a patient dies??? He also belongs in prison based on that line of thinking..

How do you know the officer had that knowledge???? and your key words, "most likely" knew proves my point..

At some point in time this country will not be able to fill all of the police jobs, especially the bigger cities where crime is higher..

Every case has to be judged on its own merits.

In this case, the cops boss said he violated numerous procedures. As a result, someone is needlessly dead. That's not just a mistake. At best its gross negligence, at worst murder. Judge/jury will have to sort that out.

When you get a driver's license, you agree to abide by the laws governing driving and the road. If you "blow a red light", you aren't "making a mistake"; you are breaking the law. Drivers are only safe if everyone is following the same rules consistently. The laws apply to everyone.

Nothing gets me more upset then drivers who ignore red lights. I've almost been killed by drivers running red lights.

That is not the same as your other examples.
