It does have all to do with those items.

The GOP created and put them in place. Then refused to adjust them. (Fascism rearing it's ugly head)

It's ironic that the first POTUS in the 21st Century to be caught self dealing was a GOP member.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.

21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures.

22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms."

Winston Churchill wrote that “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy. Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”

The democrats had the chance to change the Patriot Act and the FISA system.

They chose to leave it as is.

That's why we are in the predicament today.

Obamas administration has been committing crimes against the nation by phone. The entire planet knows what he is saying and doing.

It didn't matter to you then, why does it matter now?

It's ironic that the left does the exact same thing the right does but they don't complain when they do it.

Feingold was the ONLY Senator to vote against the Patriot Act. US Rep Dems voted for the Act 144-62

Christopher Wray has some explaining to do.

If this does not scare you to the bones, you are not an American.
Tyrants must be hung!
I liked Democrats a lot better when they didn't support spying on americans for political blackmail, in fact, I was one then.

Spying on citizens is never going to go away. That ship has sailed. They will collect more and more data on us as technology advances and in 50 years nobody will raise an eyebrow when that information is used against citizens.

You're more optimistic than I. I think in 50 years there will be a greater number of people who are stoned, addicted, stupid and even more apathetic than there are today. The majority of jobs will involve ratting out people who aren't going along with the powers that be.

It won't collapse - it will only grow stronger while we hand over the shovels we're being buried with.
