He backed out because it was his arse on the line lol.
He is saying he offered it for no profit or for free if they would allow him.
The ONLY place I saw him say that is after he said it wouldn't be held their then he tweeted he would have offered it for free.
But in reality.... he never did.
Doesn't matter anyway, it is still improper.... but he just lies, and lies, and lies.

Yep. Saturday night tweet by Trump backing out of it. Wonder which advisor or congressperson got him to change his mind and what they said to get him to change his mind.
It was most likely a bunch of GOP lawmakers, not just one. You think Trump would listen to just one? He would attack him/her out on twitter and try to end his/her election chances via a tweet.
Trump is showing what a weakling he is though. He can't even handle a few GOP lawmarkers admonishing him and is withdrawing his plan as a result, lol!
My guess is, aside from the backlash, he also cancelled because he realizes all the press this gives to Doral will end up being negative and financially damaging. Who wants to stay at resort that has more bugs than guests?
Nothing will change Trump's mind better than knowing his brand will be tainted or he will lose $ .... who wants to stay at Doral now with all the negative press it will be getting from now on?
Poor Trump is not having a good week. First the impeachment thing, and now he can't even make a profit from using his resort for the summit.
And, before his Trumpees come out and say he was going to do it at "cost"...……….yeah, right ! The way Trump cooks the books, he was licking his chops at the money this would rake in.
Trump...…….0, American public …….1. Bet he is livid !
Hahaha! I wonder who convinced him not to hold it at the failing Doral resort. Or did the world leaders just threaten to leave fake negative reviews on Yelp unless he changed the venue?

Not to mention losing multiple court cases, and a few Republicans and their undying loyalty.

It came out that there was no "vetting" that went into the selection. Police, tourism authority, secret service.... no one was asked if it was doable. Heck, they didn't even ask if there were other events planned during the same time. One politician was told, 45 mins. before the press conference.
Amateurs. Does no one know how to do anything right in the administration?
This is what happens when you hire a completely inexperienced "businessman" to run the richest country in the world. Heading a government is nothing like running a business. Leave it to illogical Americans to think complete ignorance and inexperience in the most important employee in America would be a good thing
