She is not very intelligent.

Sadly people worship elderly statesmen/women who have been in power for a long time.

When will Americans wake up and understand their institutions are managed by fools with no understanding of logic and consistency?

Our intelligence community, legislative branch, and judicial boards are made up of under-educated technocrats with a silly world view and basic imperialist instincts.

But Americans will continue to worship them anyways.

You mean the Russians haven't been allies of Syria for decades? They were allies of Libya? They seem to be on good terms with Iran. They sold Saddam most of his weapons. I am going to say Pelosi is spewing revisionist history again.

Russia wants access to Syrian ports but could not gain access or have a direct line from port to Russian stronghold. Russia wants to export their oil products through Syria to markets surrounding the Mediterranean and gain a port on the Mediterranean for economic and Military access.

Russian surveillance and access to Europe via the Mediterranean has been a goal since the dissolve of the USSR. This would also give Russia several ports to access the west from, currently its off their west coast or through the Persian Gulf which is heavily monitored.

Russia is much closer to the Middle East than the United States is. That is Russia’s backyard.

Why is the United States even involved militarily with countries half way around the world that don’t even like us particularly? We should get out of there and let them solve their own issues.

And Trump has bent over and given it to them.

So - do we want to get out of endless wars that will never be solved, or not?

If so - then yes, that would probably mean other nations may gain a foothold over there.

If no - then we continue the debt spiral, those profiting from endless wars will be happy, we put troops at risk with little reward for America.

What do we want? Because we can't have everything...
