Serious question: Do you think Trump read the Constitution?

If you think he didn’t read it, does that bother you? Would you expect your POTUS to read it?

Why does he think the emoluments clause is phony?

“You people with this phony emoluments clause,” Trump said as he took questions from reporters during a Cabinet meeting.

Trump doesn't read anything that's not in 140 character snippets or covered in pictures. "Incurious" is one of the better descriptions of him. All that he understands about the the emoluments clause is what he's pieced together from people defending him from it.

Serious question: Do you think Obama read the Constitution?

I will answer for you. I believe he did.

Now assuming you are correct in surmising Trump did not, & assuming (you like me) believe Obama did, which is worse?

Perplexing question, isn't it

Here is the disturbing fact.
If I and you proctored both Obama and Trump, mandating they read it from beginning to end, and must contemplate it for 48 hours, which one of them would come closer to the original intent of those who drafted it, and got it ratified?

We both know the answer to that (if you are being honest).
But lets say your perspective is so warped as to think America needs to be fundamentally changed in the way most leftists do. Have you read the Federalists Papers?

If not do so.
While you might not like what you find or want to admit it publicly, you will come away knowing conservatives/moderates are much closer to the original intent. It will not comport with your ideology or belief system, but it is factual nevertheless.

Here endeth the lesson.

If the National Enquirer added it to their latest edition...I give it a less than 50-50 chance.

You’re generous.

I do not believe he read it, as he has no intellectual curiosity whatsoever. He doesn’t even believe in the emoluments clause!

No that's his lawyers' jobs. Most businessmen operate in the same manner... time spent running the business and delegation of tasks/responsibilities to appropriate people (and organizations).

Trump runs the white house like a business... not necessarily a bad thing.

On, the contrary, it is a bad thing.

And in Trump's case, it is a very bad thing, because he runs this country as if it is entirely his personal business, and everything that enriches him (now and after he leaves) is all he really cares about.
